The Fog is a recently released scary movie, I believe that it just came out. I personally don't like scary movies, but a kid in my class told me that it sucked also...

I think we should adress The grudge as well, cause honestly, how far can this thread really go. The Fog Sucked. Yep, the thread is over. Why? Because honestly, does anyone think that someone is ever actually going to dispute this point?
Thus....
...I'm going to go back to the Grudge. I saw the first 75% of it, missed the end cause I had to leave for work. But I thought the movie was far creepier than I was expecting. I have no idea how it ends, so the end could suck ass and thus make the movie as a whole suck, but from what I saw it was having potential and didn't suck as bad as I had been informed.

Hello there gentleman,
Look if your talking "John Carpenters - The Fog", then go and watch John Carpenters "The Thing", which is a great movie for it's time. Also John Carpenters "Them", is pretty trippy too.

But hang on there with declaring the "The Fog" to be a "sucky movie".

If it's not the John Carpenter creation then your watching the wrong adaptation, because Johns version is a classic. The Fog comes and when it goes bad things have happened. You can't tell me that if you were walking along with you girl friend(or perhaps for some of you, your boyfriends), then a blanketing fog envelops you and when it disappears your partner is either gone or seriously dead, that it wouldn't be freaky. Especially if it started occuring over and over again.

That movie is chilling depending on how you look at it, like any horror film. If it was recently released, it would be a re-release as it was made and brought out in 1980, the one I'm thinking of, it's a classic movie and I just can't allow people to pick on that classic.

I've just checked and it does look like there's a re-release produced in large by the massive Sony conglomeration of "let's own the entire industry by the fall of 2010 fame". Hmmm, it looks like it has pretty nice effects, but I bet if this is the one your talking about it will suck in comparison to the classic. Give the original a whirl, along with other great John Carpenter films. Sadly he's gone a bit down hill now, movies like "Ghosts Of Mars" are whole heartedly very lazy John Carpenter, but in his prime the guy put out a gamet of great films. Check this site out folks:

http://www.geocities.com/j_nada/carp/fog.html
There's also info on his other films of course.

Anyway, I believe your all harping about this latest re-release which I havn't yet seen. Some re-releases exceed the originals, take for example the new "Batman" movie. Leaves the previous adaptations for dead. Another fine example would be: "The Island Of Dr Moreau" , just check out the 1977 adaptation of this film, then watch the 1996 version with Val Kilmer. The first adaptation will leave you in stitches of laughter. This story was written by H.G. Wells of who so many films have been created based on his work, like the recent "Time Machine".

But getting back to "The Fog", please note that the original Fog was created in 1980 and on a skin flint budget.(No doubt half out of John's own back pocket because back then it was harder to get money for films). Even still I'll bet John's version will still kick major ass over this new version which no doubt costed mega millions by the looks of the effects they used.

All the best guys and I hope this opens your eyes to the better world of filming.

The recent adaptation all the way Space. I totally agree with you on the classic stuff, the Thing is great. Actually I did like Ghosts on Mars as well. Will be sure to go check out the original release of the Fog.

BBB...Bullshit!!!

I just watched the Fog 2 days ago starring Tom Welling and Maggie Grace. They are both great actors, especially Tom Welling (he's the guy from Smallville, whatever that is). He's a really good actor. He really makes the audience feel like they are a part of the movie!

Very good movie!

Fog was really scary! I could of made I better move about practically anything than that. The actors weren't all that bad. Special effects were okay. The story line was retarded. Running from the fog? Are you going to fight the fog, and if so how? DUUUMMMMBBBBB!
