this story on collecting dna from unwilling people kinda gets shady to me...i don't feel like i should have my dna put into a databas, but if it solves crimes like murder, rape, etc...i dunno, guys, do you think it's right?

I see nothing wrong with it. Wat other use could they have then solving crimes?
BTW we're all in some register somewhere, why not have one that makes it easier to identify us?

No. Not unless there's a search warrant. Our identities are too heavily controlled as it is, especially with RFID becoming more prevalent now. Our right to live anonymously is being squandered. Anyway I disagree with it, but if there's a warrant attained by having sufficient evidence against someone to prosecute them in court, getting their DNA and comparing it with DNA found at the crime scene is perhaps acceptable, but do not keep it on file to compare with future crime scenes.

I might agree to it if they paid a hot virgin hooker to come and get it. :D

i'm still conflicted on this...i guess that once you lose your dna, ie, spit, piss, etc...then it's no longer yours...and dna CAN be used to solve extremely horrible crimes...but at the same time, i get chills just thinking about my dna being stored somewhere in a vast database...

Not to mention that they could just walk up after you finish smoking or drinking and collect your dna. I'm still conflicted here too. It's like yeah take dna, but how they collect it...well.

I would want to know what someone wants with my DNA if they are wanting to take it... I could end up cloned and framed for crimes by some underground cloning ring or something
