...that we have a forum of tolerance here. I was just visiting another forum and found its posting rules:

No spamming. Period. Any instance of spamming results in an immediate ban.
Do not flame other users. Constructive criticism only. Flaming includes name-calling, threatening behavior, or any other personal attack on another user.
No racist or sexist comments will be tolerated.
No impersonating another user. Any single attempt will result in a ban.
No vulgarity, obscene language. You will receive one warning and your post will be edited accordingly. One more offense results in a ban.
No obscene content, including vulgar language, nudity and violence. This includes your user name and avatar.
No "annoying" behavior. This includes posting under the wrong thread, posting the same topic twice, and posting in all caps.
No links to any adult-themed or copyrighted material is permitted.
Try to be "newbie" tolerant. They're called newbies for a reason....it's when they get out of hand that the spam rule applies.
Moderators reserve the right to edit or deleted any posts at any time, for any reason, and to issue warnings or bans for what is deemed improper behavior. Any insulting, harrasing, or otherwise inappropriate actions towards a moderator or member of this website's staff will not be tolerated.

In some of the threads, I saw members with over 3,000 posts listed as banned, and saw one banned moderator even. And even with the harsh-sounding rules, this forum contains about a half a million posts. I wonder how many of us would still be left if a moderator following these rules were to slap all offenders with the banstick?
