Um... You hate TV, but your screenname is vulcan. Odd...

Oh, yeah, you're fucking retarded. It's called self control.

The vulcan thing isn't necessarily a vote FOR tv. I've been a fan of Star Trek(TNG only, the rest are pretty gay) for a while, and there was an episode where they give their forcast on television. According to Gene Roddenberry, by about the year 2040 or so Television will become extinct, we will get BORED of it. So having a name that relates to Star Trek MIGHT just support his psychosematic no Television philosophy. However without it, how is one really supposed to ever entertain himself, or know what time of the day it is?

I really hope you're kidding. Until you make your argument clearer I refuse to continue with this conversation, because this all seems like plain old ignorant bullshit to me.

Just what was it that you didn't understand? What exactly was so ignorant? The time of day portion was a joke, but I was meerly pointing out that you may have come to a conclusion too quickly about his choice of name.

No, I understood what you meant, I think. Look, the problem isn't teelevision. It's people. Stupid people who don't understand self-control. Stupid people who have never understood how to properly use will power.

Sure, I understand that, I was never against that idea. You should talk to my friend. He has sworn off pop for his entire life and also refuses to ever consume any alcohol. I've tried the self control speech on him but he just isn't able to understand.

Hey mr. k. I disconected the TV 13 years ago, and we are in 2006, so my
last tv show in my living room was seen circa 1993. And I don't know but our beloved William Shatner was running the galaxy back in what? 1967? Hello I am the only one to see this. Of course I was raised with the tv, and I saw all Stark Trek episodes. TV is stupid to watch and we the no tv society knows about this. The net is the future, I see what I want and when I want, of course they know where I am posting, and where I am clicking, but they cant control if I want to see a dog website or a naked girl. I interact with people and they do that with me. Do you realized this post is going to be read today for about a 1000 people and is going to stay post probably for ever, my great
grandchildren are going to find this post from a colony in Alpha Centaury in a 100 years, do you guys think about these things?. TV is just to convince you to use products, and to sell old ideas to the regular american guy. And is the first thing to induce depression, and to produce heart problems. If you want for me to explain just ask. After all I am vulcan, and I am always open for suggestion. Live long and prosper!!!

One suggestion would be to not make yourself look like such an idiot and at least use catch phrases properly. : LIVE long and prosper.

Next, great if you can find everything that you want from the net. But for others of us, we like to watch our sports played live, get the newest episodes of our favorite shows as soon as they are aired and listen to the breaking news as it happens instead of waste extra energy searching for this. So what if we have to suffer through a few comercials? That's what makes this access possible.

The net is great, but it hasn't yet mastered all the advantages of the television. Until it has there is no reason to shun it. Use all your resources for what they're the best at.

Maybe after all you are gay and you want to see the baseball players fat behind, of the football players scrubbing their cock against another guy while he is no the floor. That's why you want to see sport on tv.

Wow, that just sums it all up.....it couldn't be more accurate. I AM GOING TO QUIT WATCHING ANY TV NOW BECAUSE I FINALLY REALIZE WHAT IT ALL IS!!!!!

--wait a second......no.....I don't remeber ever seeing anything like that on TV or ever watching for that.......oh YEA! Your argument here shows just how stupid your quest is! Maybe TV doesn't fry your brain after all. You haven't watched in 13 years and you're still an absolute moron!

After all your brains are behind the operation ,what kind of operation is that?
cock enlargement?, because you are dickless, so probably that's what you need . HAHAH and you completly avoid to talk about your baseball players behind because you know this is true. You like male meat, and that's a fact. And like you said I have no brains, I may join you to see the Wizard, I need a brain and you need a dick. Now we need to find Dorothy, on less you want to be Dorothy, so we can save time.

Are you serious? The internet and the popularity of computers are putting our history at risk. We're no longer writing letters or keeping paper journals - we're just punching data into electronic systems based on crappy magnetic storage and software that will probably be obsolete and unusable twenty years from now. I've got tons of old 5¼" and 3½" floppies that I know stored images & reports at one time. Damned if I can open those files now; some are in ancient, forgotten file formats and other disks are totally useless & unreadable. They're what? 15 years old? We'll all be forgotten.

We are talking about the internet, the internet its getting updated constanly, you are talking about No-Internet computers programs those are going to get
old pretty soon. I hope I put myself clear.

How do you think the internet works? Gosh, computer programs, maybe?

This website will inevitably die, the server will get tossed in the trash and replaced, and it's hard drives will fail someday. The same is true for every other website & forum out there.

The internet archive (http://www.archive.org/web/web.php) is a pretty ambitious project, though. I'd check it out if you haven't already.

Tell you what - look my children up in 100 years and they'll go hunting for these forum postings with your children. If they find anything, then they'll owe you lunch.

Doubtful that even your children will be still living in 100 years, however medical science may make some advances that make it more plausible. But there's no chance the Vulcan could maintain his life in that time. Looks like you're sitting pretty ;)

Alright, first off...

If you've got 15-year old images, they're still accessable. Believe it or not they still make floppy drives. I'm not sure if they're making 5.25" floppies but I'm sure you can get them off of eBay or something. Theyr'e still making tape drives for freedom's sake. In fact, mag-tape is still considered to be the longest lasting media, and that's 60's stuff right there.

Depending on how important it is to you, any storage media can be accessed. Once you're in, your next hurdle is decoding the programs themselves - and more often than not that's easy enough.

Second...

I haven't unplugged my TV yet I hardly ever watch it - I spend most of my time on the computer. TV for me wouldn't be a big sacrifice. But the computer would, since I have friends online.

By the way, how do you get makeup "in" your cock? And where exactly would that be? In your urethra? :D

No, no, no, not THAT cock. He was talking about his rooster. He loves that rooster so much it's like an extra appendage to him. He feeds it nail polish and eye shadow every now and then for show, makes a pretty good penny too after he advertises how he's going to stuff his cock.

But there's still the matter of putting it "in" the cock. :D

Oh, now I get it :D

And Vulcan, perhaps you could write in such a way that your arguements are comprehensible. Like, y'know, with grammer, punctaution, capitilization and stuff.

Yeah, Vulcan, listen to the man! You need to use proper grammer, punctaution, and capitilization, dummy!

Yea, forgive me, I just quoted the last one who used the argument. I felt that things needed to be clarified for those of us in here who wouldn't have understood the irony without it:rolleyes:
