Since blaming video games are just another scapegoat from admitting kids never get out of the house and don't exercise, I feel it's my duty to point out that the game manufacturers just aren't going far enough! I mean, if you're going to churn out products that make kids fat, shouldn't you make your agenda as effective as possible? For this, I have created a prototype for the next Doom installment, Doom IV: Knee Deep in Cellulite.

The premise: the player, after escaping the clutches of hell once again, returns to earth, crashlanding on a food court at the mall. The object of the game is to load up on all the fast food and snacks that remain in the debris. Gameplay ends when the player spots the cyberdemon outside, but he's so fat that he just falls to the ground, and dies.
I used to play the hell out of video games when I was a kid and only weighed a mere 140 pounds or so when I graduated from high school. What an embarassment, imagine if I had such a game, I could have been a fat tub of lard like half my graduating class!

As a 145 lb. 18 year old boy, I can safely say that I would have KILLED for this game about eight years ago. Instead, I had to deal with bullshit like "donkey kong". Oooh boy, he eats bananas. What the hell? If I wanted health food tips, I'd actually pay attention to a hippie for once instead of running it through a wood chipper. We definitely need more games like this. http://forum.bullshit.com/images/icons/icon14.gif

Yeah, that and Mario Bros.. what a pussy.. every time he runs into a turtle or snail or something he just falls off and dies.. which raises two questions... how FREAKIN' NARROW are the ledges in this game, and how come he doesn't grow a sack and start slamming some little turtle asses across the screen?? wimp :D

Not to mention the fact that he powers up by grabbing a flower. Come on, a flower? What is this, "Power Princess and the Daisy Meadow"? Why couldn't he grab something manly like a jackhammer? Then instead of getting stoned to recover life, he could eat beef jerky. That would be a hell of a lot cooler.

I couldn't get my kid to the table when he played games. My husband says put my food in the microwave when he has a new game and doesn't eat his food til the middle of the night cuz he's obsessed with his fuckin playstation.

In defense of my friend, he is divorced, and an as called "weekend" daddy. So it's probably the mothers faulth.

I am fat because I eat a lot, not because I play games. there was this kid in my class in high school who played every sport he could and he weighed 500 pounds, whereas I only weigh 300. He was 200 pounds more than me. And no he didn't bodybuild. He was just that fat.

I haven't weighed myself since I started weight training, but I weighed ~175 towards the end of the winter. I don't know if I weigh less because of the fat I've burned, more because of the muscle I've built, or if they just equaled out. In any event, I play games on and off. I'll go through phases where I'll play games a lot, and then not at all for like a month.
There's nothing wrong with playing video games or even sitting at your computer a lot, as long as you at least get active every day. I gained quite a bit of weight over the winter because I didn't go outside and walk at all.

ONLY 300 LBS?? JESUS!! You're way too young for that shit! Better get on the ball losing, you'll be regretting the diabetes earlier than you'd hope! At a little over 240 lbs last winter, my doctor was already getting on my case about it... so I lost down to a little over 200 lbs and still dropping. Best decision I ever made.

"ONLY 300 LBS?"
I know it's alot, but not compared to 500 pounds. I've also been losing quite a bit of weight anyway, so don't worry.

Good deal. Obesity and depression make a deadly mix.

dude, be more careful, the phrase "fat tax" overloaded my bullshitometer, and so did that news article.
Here it is for every numbskull in the world blaming video games for everything, hopefully some of them will read this:
VIDEO GAMES DO NOT CAUSE VIOLENCE ANY MORE THAN TELEVISION! VIDEO GAMES DO NOT CAUSE LAZINESS ANY MORE THAN TELEVISION! VIDEO GAMES DO NOT HAVE ANY MORE NEGATIVE EFFECTS THAN TELEVISION!
