anyone else here ever had a lucid dream... that is to say: a dream in which you aware that you are dreaming.

I had one two nights ago, as a matter of fact. I decided to try flying because I had heard that you could in a lucid dream. It worked, but it was more like a daydream than a real dream at that point, so I gave up the lucidity to have the story back. I liked that more.

I've come close a few times, and actually did once.

I have a lot of dreams in which something so horrible happens that it meant the end of my life as I know it. I always question whether or not I'm dreaming, but until this particular time always dismissed the idea as wishful thinking.

But this particular time, I remembered that I could conduct a reality check and see if I really was dreaming as I'd thought. I tried levitating myself. Then I tried jumping around and seeing if the laws of physics applied. They did not, and at that point I realized I was dreaming and that I could do whatever I wanted.

I then woke up. :$

I posted my lucid dream experience on my livejournal and some random guy responded with these videos:

I've watched a couple of them and they seem like they could be pretty cool. They take a little while to get started, though.

Constantly. I like bending them to my will. I change them as I go.

All the time. In fact, I am able to do math, associate real facts with what's in the dream, make educated decisions based on knowledge, and create an experience that's so real that I often wonder while awake how much shit really happened and how much was in a dream.

I had one today when I took a nap. I was walking around in my dream and knew I was dreaming, but the dream continued.

Being pregnant, I have had the craziest dreams I have ever had in my life.

The strangest being going for a sonogram and seeing a whole chicken (like you buy at the store to cook) in the picture and them telling me we were having a boy. I told the lady "no, I am having a chicken. How do you get a boy from that picture?"

Now that's weird.....

Yeah, usually if you get too excited you wake up. I remember the first lucid dream I had, I looked at a clock once and saw 8:50, I looked away and then looked back, and it said 7:46, I was going to create a really hot girl and then screw her, but I woke up. I'm glad I'm more ambitious now, when I have lucid dreams now I always create 2 hot girls.

This just happened today..

I was taking a short nap on the couch before I left for work, and I had another one of those casual life-event dreams where I was in the dining room talking to my dad on the phone, was talking to my wife, laughing, casual conversation... when I noticed that the washer & dryer weren't in the room where they were supposed to be, and before i could let out "This is fake..." Serena disappeared, everything became disorderly, and the strange force that always gets pissed off when I figure out I'm dreaming showed up again...

It's been happening too much lately... I figure it out and make something angry... it never lets me stay asleep in a dream I determined was a lie.
