I would just like to take this opportunity to pass a huge royal
FUCK YOU

to Owen Wilson over his recent chickenshit suicide attempt. I don't know which article is the most current, but here's one link:

With all the people in the world suffering with life-threating illnesses, disabilities, starvation, war, etc... who still manage to try their best in life, and this guy living it up in fame and fortune wants to throw it all away... according to the link over a FUCKING MOVIE SCRIPT of all things... it's just lame...

The insider adds, "Owen felt demoralized after letting down his pal."

Oh boo hoo... how much did he think he would let him down by bleeding to death on the floor??

I have always had a great appreciation and much respect for the guy, who has been in many of my favorite movies, especially ones where he plays alongside Ben Stiller... but after this, most of that respect is gone...

To Wilson and all the other bigshot celebs that pull stunts like these...
Most people would likely give many years for your worst day!

I've no idea who this guy is, but I think he should be a lesson to folk that money and fame do not necessarily make you happy.

I think your post is a little cold-hearted Jim. Give the guy a break.

No Mr.Jim is right. First of all, If your friend asks you to write something for him, and you don't finish it, you do NOT kill yourself, you simply apologize. This guy is upset about not finishing a movie script for his friend, I can sympathize with that, but does he not realize that ending his own life would likely bring the other guy many times as much sadness? God, I hate people.

You never really know exactly what his reason was, what with all the different gossip floating around. But either way, I doubt it was suicide worthy, and for him to ATTEMPT suicide? Hmmm, this guy is a millionaire and has the means to a lot of shit, if he really wanted to die, he would have succeeded. Seems to me like he was depressed severely and just wanted people to know that.

It's of little importance what reasons are behind it; Kurt Cobain, Phil Hartman... everyone's got a story to tell. The bottom line is that someone says 'Hey, I don't want to deal with my problems, and that's far more important than how I hurt my friends and family'.. It's selfish, and it's chickenshit. My uncle pulled that one when his daughter was between 6 and 10, something like that... I'm sure she appreciated it...

First of all, Jenny, welcome to the board.

Jim, I understand the anger. When I was younger, one of my best friends (the bass player in our band) went home after a night out with us, and hanged himself in his mothers garage.

Afterwards, we all went through a whole range of emotions. Denial, disbelief, anger, sorrow.

Suicide is a selfish act, but depression is a mental illness.

Jenny is right though, attempted suicide is often and cry for help. I hope he gets it.

And like I said, I've no idea who he is, but if he has worked with Ben Stiller, there's no wonder he wants to kill himself.

Slitting the wrist is so lame. Owen Wilson should have had a read here:

I'm sorry to hear that Jim. I can't really say I know how it is, because its never happened around me but I understand how frustrating it can be.

Honestly, the way I look at it, there is no excuse for suicide and that goes for not only celebs who think they have it rough, but everyone. The problem is, people realize how they could've helped when it's too late.

...and thank you E.E.! :D

Obviously the guy has a few screws loose. It's not a rational thing to do to try and hang yourself because of not coming up with some ideas for some stupid script.

I wouldn't be surprised if he has drug and alcohol problems which can screw up your head. I agree that money and fame don't necessarily bring happiness, but I'd be willing to try out being mega rich for a while just to see:D

Money doesn't buy happiness, but it makes a good down payment. http://forum.bullshit.com/images/smilies/cool.gif
