Dude, I hate reality TV with a purple passion... but this is a genuine exception to the rule. Chef Ramsay doesn't take shit, period. All these cocky assholes that think they can cook, then produce horsecrap, he decimates them (after embarrassing the fucking hell out of them, of course). Best reality show ever made... come to think of it... about the only reality show I can sit through.
'American Idol' and 'So You Can Dance' should be deep fried by this chef.

Wow... its all garbage to me, and everyone else the only people that like any reality show is people that find one that deals with thier particulal interest.

Yeah, as far as reality goes, reality coking shows kick ass. Jamie Oliver did one a few years ago where he put a bunch of poor kids through school. It wasn't a competition like most reality shows, but a lot of them didn't make it. Cooking school is tough if you're not ready for it.

I saw some of those (the UK version)... didn't really care for it as much, since by comparison it was a bit boring. Nonetheless, Ramsey is definitely fucking brilliant. Credentials, presentation, "tie-breaking" moves... the kind of things that would go well for the contestants at a job interview -- they don't mean SHIT to Ramsay. That's what I really like to see - honesty and standards, calling it for what is (even if it's the "dog's dinner" :D)

There is a British show on Public Tele here ;) called "Keeping Up Appearances"
I suspect it is probably 10 or 15 years past your prime time across the pond.
It's very popular, however, with the Volkswagen Beetle driving, Frock and Birkenstock wearing crowd. :p
By the time "Python" got here, it was old hat in England. American television (now mostly our public television) tends to recycle old English shows years after they leave your broadcasts. Probably because they are had on-the-cheap.
Back in the 60's, with the success of "James Bond 007" and "The Beatles", all things British were very in demand. American television was invaded by a few British based shows. I remember "The Avengers" and "The Prisoner" just to name a few. There was also a funky British Sci Fi show that was really lame. Unfortunately I can't remember the name, but I admit I watched it.

Keeping up appearances!?!?!:D:D
I'm amazed that rubbish got over there.
I don't think Python will ever be old hat.
There are only two British sci-fi shows that I can think off. One made by the BBC called "Doctor Who" which started in the 60's and is still running and a sci-fi comedy from the 90's called "Red Dwarf", which was actually very good.
