Nothing confusing there at all. It's just the old program manager fron Winblows 3.11.

Why it is still packaged is kinda baffling though.

That's just it.
It's not.
It even confused you.
Its actually Windows for Workgroups 3.11 running at 800x600x16M.
I used DOSBox.

So you signed onto Windows 3.11 and put "Windows XP" as your desktop?

Basically.
But I also had to convert the wallpaper from JPG to BMP

And, if you thought that was scary, this one will make your blood run cold.

Yeah, but on windows you can copy any online image as wallpaper. With a mac you can't copy shit because there's only one goddamn mouse button.

Damn, that is a really common misconception.

1) you can attach any USB Mouse, 1 OR 2 button, even with a scroll wheel.
2) On Macbooks, you can set it up so if you touch the pad with two fingers it double-clicks.

Say what? The Macs we use at work have 2-button mouses, complete with the middle scroller button thingy.

And I can download and use anything I want for a background...

I've only used a macbook, but you have to drag stuff all over the place when you want to copy stuff. I don't know if you can attach a real mouse to it or not. With a windows you just right click and there's everything you might need.

Here's something else that might confuse anyone who has never heard of Ext2 IFS:

In case you don't know, Ext2 and Ext3 (also referred to as Ext2fs and Ext3fs) are the normal formats for Linux.
