Anyone a fan of the Uncle John's Bathroom books? I personally can't live without them, they really make shitting one of the better parts of my day! Anyways, I was reading it in the usual place this morning when I came across this one clip speaking of Broadway musicals. Namely, Annie. It tells of how great the play was, but when it turned into a movie in 1982, the movie was SO bad (a "huge disaster" as the book credits it), that it "caused the play's ticket sales to plummet." Now I grew up to movie musicals and always thought that Annie was among the better ones (right up there with Mary Poppins). So how could it possibly be credited with being such a disaster that it killed the broadway play?
