I think that is a phenomenon that affects the young mind.
I clearly remember having songs play over and over in my mind when I was below the age of 28 (I am estimating here). But for the past six years it happens less and less. The last time I remember this happening to me was with Telepopmusik's "Just Breathe". I still love that song.
Though; I will sometimes sing many of Astrud Gilberto's lyrics and Eva Cassidy's songs. I love them both most of all at this point in my life. However; I don’t remember any song plaguing my mind for some time now.

I have to disagree. My parents talk about having a song in their head from time to time. The only effect that age might have is how often a person surrounds himself with music. Elderly citizens such as yourself don't tend to focus so much on music as they often have other issues plaguing their mind. I'm willing to bet that if you focused more of your life on listening to music once again that eventually certain songs will start repeating through your mind uncontrollably.

Perhaps you are right. I don’t know for sure. I just know there is a distinct difference between my youthful brain's addiction to music and my mature brains love of music. The difference is that it does not obsess me.

Hey, my words are only a problem if you want them to be, they're nothing but the truth. Everyone either gets old or dies before they can, which path would you prefer?

I am not classified as Elderly. In our society, adults are declared to be "old" when they reach the ages of 65-70, and secure their pension entitlement.
Thats why I called you an ass.

You're accepting society's definition of what elderly is, I'll use my own. If it offends you, you have nobody to blame but yourself. You don't have to be offended if you don't want to be. Everyone gets old, it shouldn't be something to be ashamed of. Nobody has any control over their age.

Don’t be silly. I could care less what you think of me. Do you really think your opinion counts that much in my book? If you choose to go against normal definitions - kudos for you!

If it didn't count in your book you would not be replying when I gave it. You might not agree with it, but I'm sure that something inside of you wants to change it.

I am doing this for the viewers of our little diatribe and for my own pleasure.
There are many things that I would like to change, nothing that you would know of.

So there you go! It's not just a phenomenon of the young mind, it just so happens to be ample repetition and consideration for the music!

I've got some Queen song in my head right now, which is odd since I don't really care for Queen. Last night I had Heart of the Sunrise by Yes in my head.
