Wow, that's not far from the image I had of you before ever seeing any likeness. However, he does look even stupidier than I had imagined. Facial features tell you a lot about the person. And this person's face is saying "I know I'm smarter than everyone else," while at the same time telling me that nobody really takes anything he does seriously or thinks much of him from an intellectual standpoint. Thanks for clarifying all of my assumptions!

Wow BBQ Thanks.
This statement has also helped me understand you a bit better as well. I can see why you have so many ignorant ideas. You use superficial data to make an opinion.
That could mean a lot of different things itself. Superficial has so many meanings let's just go through them with what you could have implied one by one.
1. Superficial = not profound; concerned with or only understanding the obvious.
Well, I thought myself that this statement of mine was pretty obvious, but I felt good saying it anyway!:D
2. Superficial = relating to the surface; on, near, relating to, or affecting the surface of something.
With this meaning, the statement that you made was superficial[1]. Of course I'm relating to the surface because that's what I have to go off of. However, the inflections of the face can give good insight into what is controlling them.
3. Superficial = without depth or character; shallow in character or attitude.
I never intended it to have any depth or character. Simple facts generally have no depth or character, especially when they are of poor impressions of someone.
4. Superficial = cursory; swift and not thourough.
Well, it was my first impression. Not very much thought put into it. But my first impressions often are so close as accurate as a thourough investigation it is worthless to go further.
5. Superficial = only apparantly so; only seeming to be real or the case.
Although this is the definition that you probably intended, it's really not all that true. You'd be surprised how much one can accurately deduce about a person simply by looking at their facial features.
6. Superficial = insignificant; with little significance or substance.
In which case you think that it's insignificant. Good for you. Keep on deluding yourself. If you continue to consider things like this insignificant they will never improve because you will never do anything to make them improve.

You draw conclusions far too fast. He never said he was worried that it would make him gay, he said that he was worried because it was a picture of a queer.
You know, I've recently taken a mock Mensa quiz and it had numerous questions that required accurate assumptions of the very same nature that you've missed here. I'm extremely surprised, even with the ease of this mock test, that a person like you was able to pass any real Mensa test. . . that is, to pass it honestly.

Why don't you try to think of some other possibilities? You're a teacher of science, you should know that the first thing that comes to mind is rarely the best one. Maybe it's a racist issue. He is very anti-queer. It'd be no different from a member of the KKK who'd heard a comedy sketch from Chris Rock and thought it was hilarious, then saw him on TV and told himself he'd never listen to that nigger again, simply because he's black.

I did not make the remark he did. Therefore it is not my responsibility to explain what he meant by what he said, it is his. There are many possibilities and I could have considered them all. I chose to focus on one of them: the prejudice perspective. If he is anti-gay want him to explain why he is (hence the questions I asked).

No, you focused on the false-paranoia perspective. I brought up the prejudice perspective as an alternative. You accused him of being afraid of turning gay from your picture, when he never stated that. I'm just saying that for someone who claims to be so smart, you really jump to conclusions far too quickly.

Sorry bubba, but what you said was a statement with a question mark at the end of it.
Let's look at it to remember what you said:
Having a picture of a gay man flipping you off would make you gay?
If you had worded this properly as a question two words would be added before it, "How" and "would", to make the QUESTION:
How would having a picture of a gay man flipping you off would make you gay?
Of course "Why do you think" and other premises would also be acceptable, but essentially ask the same question. In any form, this QUESTION tells the receiver that you have already made the conclusion that he believes this picture will make him gay.
You are the one jumping to conclusions.
I'm not jumping to conclusions. You're just trying to turn the argument around to make yourself sound like the straight thinker.
Ah,.. but this is not an isolated instance. You have avoided this question for some time.
But I haven't. I've answered it very clearly but you don't care for the answer. You hold your membership to Mensa as a credit to your intelligence over others on this forum and call them idiots without even showing the ability to explain why.

This is where you are wrong. I do not use it as credit to hold it over any one. I call people idiots because I see them that way not because of my "membership".
I totally disagree with you: I have shown and explained why I see a topic a certain way. You just do not honor other people’s opinions when they are different from your own.
You are constantly using my membership, my sexuality and my grammar as ways of attacking my stance on issues. This is totally inappropriate and pointless. The only thing that this line of "debate" usually shows is lack of an appropriate rebuttal on your part.

You can still make a statement within a question, which is exactly what you did. I made this clear in the last comment, that even if you had worded it perfectly the statement still exists inside the question. If you did not intend to, then the fault was yours. It does not matter what the intended message was, the only message that makes a difference is the one that is received.
This is where you are wrong. I do not use it as credit to hold it over any one. I call people idiots because I see them that way not because of my "membership".
The problem is that you just blatantly call them idiots without anything to back up your claims. I brought that part up in what I was saying there to point out that intelligence is lacking even though you claim otherwise. Any intelligent person can easily and clearly explain why he thinks someone is an idiot, yet you often never even give attempt to explain.
I totally disagree with you: I have shown and explained why I see a topic a certain way. You just do not honor other people’s opinions when they are different from your own.
I do honor other opinions. But when other people don't give credit to my valid arguments and attempt to show me another side of the issue, it makes it difficult to talk to them civilly.
You are constantly using my membership, my sexuality and my grammar as ways of attacking my stance on issues. This is totally inappropriate and pointless. The only thing that this line of "debate" usually shows is lack of an appropriate rebuttal on your part.

The problem is that you just blatantly call them idiots without anything to back up your claim....bla bla bla.... an easily and clearly explain why he thinks someone is an idiot, yet you often never even give attempt to explain.
I don’t agree with you. There have been times, when in exasperation after a lengthy debate, I have called others idiots (including you) but never randomly and without debate.
I do honor other opinions. But when other people don't give credit to my valid arguments and attempt to show me another side of the issue, it makes it difficult to talk to them civilly.
So you are saying I pissed you off and now you are going to treat me like you say I treat others? (BTW that's a question)
BBQ, you get pissed off when I don’t agree with your view point. I don’t have to agree with what you call a “valid argument”. Often times the things that you call the same are apples and oranges to me. Perhaps you need to explain better?
Tell ya what, I'll leave the issues of Mensa, Sexuality, and Grammar alone as long as you can avoid making cruel or heartless comments at my expense. Let's stick to the debate. I'd prefer if things went that way anyways.

BBQ originally posted his picture (village people wanna be) with a link to his college website. He had a lot of information on there. You didn't enjoy seeing someone with whom you have been speaking? Too bad.
BBQ is very honest. Everything that he says he is is true (at least from the website resume)
I have to say that I perfer his site to your myspace. It seemed more ... well mature. No offense.

I'm confused. What do you mean by "You don't enjoy seeing someone you've been talking to?"?

The difference is that your website is something that you are doing for fun. The website that he is referring to, which is no longer accessible from this forum, was done as a requirement for a class. It needed a lot more "maturity" in it than your site.

Wit and Humor....hmmmm....probably shouldn't be here writing in this post, I am not witty nor a humorist...although, people have said I am funny looking. And that Mesa crap is bothering the hell outta me, it's like some kinda weird organization where you need to know everything Alex Trebeck would ever want to ask you, but only in the form of an answer. Strange, I thought the moon would be full.

I've said it a bunch o' times, another great thing about gay men, is that you don't have to compete w/ them for women. If they were straight, it would sure make it a hell of a lot harder on the rest of the guys around. :D

Just out of curiosity here...
I have noticed that a number(As in all but beelzbub, whom is apparently gay) have "Jungle Fever", the "Asian Persuasian", the "Nagasaki Need", or perhaps the "Chinese, Please" orientation as far as female preference goes.
No real point to this, just wanted to use some terms for having a thing for Asians.

So that's why sodomy is wrong. I mean, if Satan's second-hand man does it, it has to be wrong.
