Reparations are really stupid why should I pay money for something that didn't even happen to you. Your ancestors would probably be disappointed in you if you would abuse your power of this. It's quite disgusting how people plead for money over an old thing what do you guys think?

Although I destest even saying,this Papa Bear Bill O'Rielly said it right. Those people who can produce evidence that one of their direct ancestors is owed for their labor (not for mistreatment-many have suffered that) then those people are entitled to compensation. There are log books that would allow those sorts of repayment.

Anything else is just goofy - almost every ethnic group can claim mistreatment at the hands of another group.

We're talking about an institution that was destroyed over 143 years ago in the United States. I doubt that any (maybe a very small hand full) black person living today can IN FACT prove that an ancestor of theirs was IN FACT a slave. Can any of you show me proof and post facts as to who is an ancestor of yours and who they were and what they did 143 years ago in 1865? I highly doubt it!

The reason for paying Reparations is to try and right a wrong done to family members of a relative that has IN FACT been directly damaged by said wrong. We paid Reparations to the offspring of Japanese interned in camps for that very reason. These Reparations were paid to the first generation survivors because they were directly effected by what was done to their parents. I have no problem with that.

What black today can claim that slavery, from over 143 years ago, has directly done anything to them personally? NONE! It's total bullshit! The United States owes NOTHING to any black living today for slavery in an era over 143 years ago. NOTHING. Enough of this bullshit!

this is what i told him

the black person feels that they are owed something because of what they went through in this country.

it is more acceptable to blame the white man
they call themselves african-americans which is a slap
in the face to america

I have a pile of them, Zack, I've scanned in a few; we are going to scan in the rest for a "digital scrapbook" of the family including some recordings of me talking to my father when I was 2 or 2 1/2 old, my sister, my brother (record on to MP3s) and a few "super 8" (remember them?) films taken over the years. That way it can easily be passed down to all of my nieces, nephews and their kids. Sort of a digital history of the family that they all can have. I have definitely thought of the first part of that statement before -- Read about the 'Lost Boys' or watch 'God Grew Tired Of Us' -- Life seemed worse than death out there. At least as slaves they got to eat.

I haven't read or heard of the Egypt-Jewish thing, but it seems like a reasonable assumption, though.

Thats it everyone that had a Jewish or Muslim ancestor in Spain during the 1400 and 1500's it your time to sue the Catholic church for reparations. If the refuse just go "Since the blacks and Indians get it why should we be excluded."
