Damn Interesting!

I find this damn interesting! I wonder what else is out there? ...

A pair of strange new worlds that blur the boundaries between planets and stars have been discovered beyond our Solar System. A few dozen such objects have been identified in recent years but this is the first set of "twins". Dubbed "planemos", they circle each other rather than orbiting a star.

That's pretty interesting, but I always heard that we never were really able to even determine for certain that other planets are even out there. There is evidence of some because of the ways stars shift around, but no telescopes were powerful enough to actually see anything other than stars. When did we start pinpointing planets (or planemos as in this case) outside of our own solar system? The last I heard was that we had just discovered (in the last decade) a POSSIBLE tenth planet in our own solar system beyond pluto.....
