Death Penalty

I don't know what you guys think about this but I would like to find out. The death penalty is mostly debatable among republicans and dems. The old belief that an eye for an eye is a good standard to base life off of it is a somewhat harsh but fair idea people need to get comeuppance. But the dems. most believe it is a cruel act against a human and the civilized society we live in now. I feel death penalty is only for extreme cases that go along the border lines of he has been caught doing this action before such as murder of a human or killing an over abundance of creatures for the fun, assistance in suicide, rape, or many cases of child molesting. If it is his first offense let him go with prison but if he gets caught again let the criminal go to the chair for lethal injection.

personally knowing that people that have killed other people are now dead makes me feel safe. also if they were not put to death the victims family is paying to keep that person alive (remember taxes fund prisons) so if a person jumped through your window killed your children raped your wife and dog then killed your wife would you want him to live???

What if you shot and killed the man while he was raping your wife after he killed your kids. You come home, discover the crime as it is unfolding, and take him out. Just before he was going to kill your wife and dog.
So I guess by your reasoning, you'd be put to death, right? You just killed a man. The hell with the circumstances, eh? YOU KILLED HIM. We'll all feel safer knowing that a person that killed another person is being put to death, right?

Some people deserve to die, knowing where to draw the line is the hard part. Also, there's always the possibility they may be innocent.

actually, i think we should follow the example of others for capital/corporal punishment...public, humiliating punishments for non-violent crimes like theft, we just brand the mofo's...all else depends on the circumstances

When I was a kid, I saw a picture of a man getting his hand cut off for stealing a loaf of bread in the Middle-East.
Scared the living shit out of me. Horrific image to view as a kid.

I guess if you had a culture where you literally lost a hand for stealing, a your balls for raping, and your head for killing, you'd either behave or be handless, ballless, and headless.

The death penalty should be administered to the really sick fucks, but if someone kills because they felt like they had to for some reason, such as protection or revenge, then they don't deserve the death penalty.

As hitek says, some people are rabid dogs and need to be taken out back and shot.
