i've been spit at and spit on,
i've been chastized and lied about.
i've been shunned and forgotten
i have had my honor tarnished
by those in power
my government has failed me
but i have never failed my government
i've stood tall and proud
brave and strong
i have looked upon death's door
never blinked
never walked away
i am the calm within the storm
at her darkest hour
in her greatest need
the call shall be answered
america shall always be free
i am the soldier, sailor, airman and marine
my blood ,sweat and tears are the walls
that protect thee
my oath is my word
my honor is my soul
my life i give to protect you all
for i am a soldier, sailor, airman and marine

It is sickening the way we, as a society, have treated our active and veteran armed forces men and women. They literally give their blood and lives so that we may enjoy sitting home on a Sunday and surfing the internet with ease and comfort.

I make it a point to walk up to all uniformed personnel as I travel and thank them for their service to our country.

I won't put up with another Viet Nam homecoming.

When our troops return from Iraq, I'll be there, if possible, to greet any that return to a location I am near.
And I will cheer for them and welcome them home with honor and dignity.

and the sickest part of it is that the bastards
who are bastardizing the troops are your peta loving,
tree hugging ,gun hating liberal fucks.
who hate this country and it's values anyway
but if we were ever attacked
they would be crying the loudest for our military to defend them

Hammerhead, why do you write all your posts to look like a poem anyway? I've been wondering about that for a while.
