Eh, just to be random.

I never could live with all those icons.

Hey, why doesn't anyone use the Large Icons feature you can find in "Effects" under the appearance tab in Display Properties. I got that up and never could go back to the small icons.

No, I doubt that. To me it just shows that you're either too lazy to clean them off or you can't figure out which ones you need and which ones you don't.

Of course, having a lot of files is fine, I just can't stand them on the desktop.

For me, I have these folders:

And I know Windoze has something similar.

RE: "Creativity and organization are very good co-workers."

Everyone I know who is "organized" is about as creative and boring as an accountant.

Ever see a drawing of the house of Leonardo Da Vinci? Crap piled up everywhere. He was a pretty damn creative dude. Not that I want to be one, but Leonardo Da Vinci was a slob. :D

Not really, it's just messy. But with the exception of the recycle bin, I never go through the desktop to open anything anyway, I use the Start menu... much faster.

I can tell what you mean by that from the fact that the entire right side of your desktop is covered in photos.

And, just as I am, I have to brag on the Mac.

See, on the Mac, you plug in your camera, and iPhoto starts up. When you tell it to import, it puts all of your photos in your home folder under Pictures/iPhoto Library. Boom. No mess.

Actually, I only had this thing crash once, and it was while I was rebooting after some kind of modification. It got back up, and worked fine.

In fact, it crashes so little, I downloaded a screensaver just to remind me what a kernel panic looks like.

System 9, however, was a different story.

Usually I'd use Avira AntiVir, but when I was installing PC Tools's Firewall, it had mentioned ThreatFire, and I found it out uses Heuristics.

ThreatFire is not an AntiVirus, it is heuristic protection. You need to get a real AV. (keep threat fire, though).

No they aren't. PC is a trademark by Windows. A Mac can't possibly be a PC. It's a computer, but not a PC

The term "PC" is an acronym for "Personal Computer" originally coined by IBM. Macs are PCs, as opposed to mainframes or corporate servers (except for the Apple XServe, which is in fact a Server.)

Incidentally, as far as I know, the only reason the term "PC" became associated with the Windows platform is because Apple used the term in it's ads to refer to Windows, when any computer that belongs to you is literally a "PC".

Carrot
06-10-2009, 12:33 PM
It's used by windows marketing as well, while PC does refer to a personal computer the letters PC (not the acronym) is somehow, a windows trademark. "I'm PC, are you PC" etc.

And your laptop looks tacky.

TBH, the first and foremost reason not to buy a Mac is the price, the second is their disgustingly desperate and cheap marketing campaign.
