Fuck! What do we have to do, ask the control tower before we take off if we are on the right runway!!!! Assholes!!!!
Investigators said the plane took off from the wrong runway, a short strip not intended for commercial flights.

A passenger plane carrying 50 people has crashed shortly after taking off from an airport in Kentucky, killing all but one on board.

How the hell do you take off on the wrong runway? You'd think the pilot would know his plane and the airport well enough to know it wasn't long enough. And the control tower, was someone sleeping up there? This does suck.

How the hell could a person be living at the same house for over a decade and still miss a step every now and then when walking down the stairs? You'd think the person would know his own house well enough to know where each step was. But everybody makes mistakes from time to time, especially the experienced people for no better reason than the fact that they get lazy and overlook something extreme once in a blue moon.

This isn't missing a step on the staircase. This is having sex on your parents' bed while they're in there.

I'd say it's more like taking the south exit when you know that you need to take the north exit on the freeway to get to work. You've been going the right way for a decade straight, but screwed up this one time. Yea, it doesn't happen often, but give it enough time and it will happen. It's just a fact of getting so deeply into a routine you don't think about it at all and you need to slip only once for it to become a problem.

But this isn't just a simple wrong turn. It's fifteen minutes' worth of prechecks and whatnot. Now I don't know because I'm not a pilot, but it just seems to me that this kind of thing is really hard to miss. Then again, my mom said she was on a small flight once and there was this big cardboard screen over the windshield to prevent it from getting too hot in the cockpit, and it said "REMOVE BEFORE FLIGHT" on it. Yeah thanks for the reminder, I don't think I would've realized it until I was halfway to the location, and that would be a pain in the ass to climb out.

That's why this is the first time that you've ever heard about it. Chances are that it's the last time you'll ever hear about anythinglike it too. It doesn't matter how unlikely something is to happen, as long as you have enough time to wait, it will eventually happen. It's exactly what was meant by that whole theory "anything that can go wrong will."

Well, everything's bound to happen, but it was still really stupid. I don't have anything against the pilot, I mean I wish him well, but the mistake was still kind of stupid. There were so many people who should've caught on, the whole thing was just one big cluster fuck, as they say in the military.
Hopefully they'll learn from the mistake and add "make sure you're on the right fucking runway" to the list of pre-departure checks. :D

This took place really close to where I live. I can't believe it...
