In the five miles from the freeway to my house at about 1:45 this morning (Labor Day) I crossed paths with FOUR police cars! Two of them were within six blocks of my house. This is a city with a population of 60,000 over 50 miles from the capital, and on a Sunday night! The recent Labor Day weekend drunk driving statistics must really be through the roof for putting that much care into trying to control it. (Especially since bars can't even be open on a Sunday night!) I'm generally surprised if I see one police car on my way home from the freeway in less than five trips!
