Anyone in here into Martial Arts? GoJu Ryu, Shaolin, Aikido, Muay Thai, JiuJitsu, Shotokan, Kyokushin, Shorin Ryu, Preying Mantis, Eagle Claw, Paqua, Escrima, Jeet Kune Do, Judo, Wushu, Tae Kwon Do, Hung Gar, Ishin Ryu, Ninjitsu, Hapkido, Wing Chun, Tai Chi, Wrestling, Boxing, Whatever!!!
:D Just curious as to what you practice and what you think about it. I want to learn about other systems and more or less how they function.

that is awesome general but you should be careful of posting your ideas on the net, someone may steal them and you may have some trouble with that idea, it has been used almost as a base to a popular game called shadowrun, but best of luck it sounds pretty bad ass,
And i have dabbled in the arts and in my experience nothing is as well rounded as Kung Fu-White Tiger, Emerald Dragon, and Chin Liu are awesome systems, i really enjoy jiu-jitsu and Bazilian Jiu-Jitsu as well. But there are many things you can take from all arts, cross training is the key to being the best martial artist that you can

I did Taekwondo for about 2 years and got my black belt and then quit but what questions do you have about it?

1)TKD, from what I've seen its mostly legs at work. Do they teach a lot of hand techniques aswell?
2) What your opinion on TKD, was the training rigirous, get a good sweat, get stronger? Did you like the combat techniques, do you find it effective
3) Why did you quit?:( tears fall...

hey Reptile,
Tae Kwon Do is not a combat art, they teach no hand work, its all kicks and is more of a competitive sport, if your looking for a good work out and some fun it may be what your looking for. But, if youre wanting to learn to sucessfully defend yourself it is a poor choice.

I practice GoJu-Ryu, Aikido, JiuJitsu, and study the philosophies of Jeet Kune Do. I was just curious towards other styles regardless of how they perform. I do know that there are two branches of Tae Kwon Do by the way. One is the more competative "sport" art, and the other is a more brutal combat art. The brutal one is rare though. TKD does have hand techniques, but what you said isn't too far off because it does display mostly leg work. superdudewahoo you know about this stuff huh, have you practiced any art forms?
