I could be wrong, but you also seem to have dubious knowledge of teaching methods. The vast majority of material that a teacher learns in training has nothing to do with teaching and everything to do with maintaining control of the classroom.

In my experience, most high school (junior and senior) teachers do not have the luxury of attempting to do anything other than lecture. Of the teachers I know, only a few truly talented ones were able to actually rise above lecture and actually involve the students in any meaningful way.

My experience in college leads me to suggest that the same dynamic exists there as well. Obviously larger colleges and universities are constrained by class sizes and tend to use the lecture style more frequently than others, however I found in college that there was (in general and again only in my experience) less lecture and more meaningful involvement.

Incidentally I am not in any way siding with Josh, defending him or even commenting on him. My comments are solely directed at Jasmine. I believe the pot and kettle analogy would be appropriate here, but again- I could be wrong.

Racial affirmative action is !BULLSHIT! and is a step in the wrong direction. I'm all for equal oportunity. Low income affirmative action is worth considering. But, all racial affirmative action does is tell minorities that they need to be given what they want, and it doesn't do any good for them.
