Now THIS is fucked up: according to this story, (http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090408/ap_on_bi_ge/tv_fox_layoff_show) Fox is creating a reality show titled "Someone's Gotta Go", which will air companies eliminaing employees using the typical reality show nomination process. Correct me if I'm wrong, but since when is unemployment supposed to be entertainment? This is just not the right time for to be putting workers through humiliation like this.

You know, it really wouldn't be so bad if the work environment was like it used to be. Speaking of losing a job is every worker's button right now. In the late 90's if someone threatened to 'cost you your job', big deal, you would just go find another one. Nowdays 'cost you your job' and 'ruin your life' are so closely related that it's hard to believe anyone could find entertainment value in it.

It's so commonplace now, like an epidemic. It really seems a lot worse than the 8% that is formally recognized by the government. I was laid off 4 months ago.
