My family came to visit me and I took them around the town.
You would really enjoy the trip!

Cool pics. A couple of them could use a bit more color though. Did you take them on a foggy day?

No. They were all taken yesterday (Sep 29th). The foggy ones were taken through the foggy windows of the Washington Monument.

I forgot the Capital Hall was so large. I came up with the idea of driving a remote-controlled armored vehicle through the front doors packed with explosives... but upon second examination it might not work. If nothing else you'd need a pretty big fucking bomb. :/

Well, it's something to keep in mind if and when the government turns into a police state. It'll be like America's Westminster Palace :D

I hate to say this but I think thats a VERY real possibility. Things are getting worse at a "not so slow" and steady pace.

Dude - I might be a bit paranoid here, but watch what you're saying on the internet. Of course we all understand you're kidding, but seriously guys - the administration has been holding people in custody for years without actually charging them all in the name of fighting terrorism. Anyways - I don't think it's likely, for you guys to get in trouble, but I definitely think it's not impossible - so just be careful, okay :)

Anyways Beelzebub - I didn't know you lived in DC. That's way cool. I've seen a lot of the U.S. - not yet DC though. I definitely want to visit it sometime. Not for a while now. Emma needs to get a bit older first. I think everybody should visit the capital of wherever they live. That just makes for good education.
Great pictures by the way. Especially considering you were taking the "foggy" ones through a window.

A valid concern, but people should not be afraid of the government. Governments should be afraid of their people. When the people are afraid of their government, there is tyranny, but when the government is afraid of their people, there is freedom. That's why I refuse to live my life in fear that the feds are going to arrest me. I appreciate your concern though. :)

Good for you General! I totally have trust issues.
I also grew up in a socialist country, which might be part of the reason. However, I do believe though that unfortunately there's enough undemocratic crap going on in so called "free-countries" as well.

I agree with you guys on that one. WE control the government, or at least we're supposed to. Now days its the other way around, those damn scumbags. But still thank you for posting your concern Dakota, I understand what your trying to say.:)

I totally agree with you guys. We really SHOULD control our government. And we do to some extend. We definitely do during elections. It's just - once a government is elected, you are at their mercy to some extend as well.
Anyways - I totally agree with you guys, we shouldn't have to be on our guard like that. I just heard horror stories about people being arrested because they mentioned certain key-word that national security is listening (cell phones) and looking (online) for. They were totally out of context, but they made the red lamp go off ...
Anyways - you guys have totally grown on me. I'd hate to see something happen to you - as unlikely as it is ...

Your right, the government has been known to do that. They search for certain keywords in phonecalls, messages, etc.
They call these intercepting stations "Echelon stations"
