I'd rather scoop a poo from my backyard and put it in the bin, than talk about global warming - yerr thas right. My poo will have as much impact on this gigasmic universe than any old carbon emissions will ever do.

How do you know that? Why are you so quick to dismiss carbon emissions?

Before human technology the earth did not produce these emissions. With the quantity of emissions being produced how can you be so sure that there won't be an effect.

One thing for certian. When CO2 is mixed with water it forms an acid. If the ocean becomes more acidic it could result in the destruction of the basis of the food chains in this ecosystem.

I am blown away by the lack of understanding out there that this isactually taking place at a more than scary pace.

Travelling the world with my job had landed me for extended periods in many countries including the economic powerhouses of Asia.

If you do not believe global warming exists, you should book a ticket immediately to the southern Guangdong province of China or even to Shanghai.

The smog and air pollution is so bad in this entire province that on a clear day you cannot see for more than half a mile through the smoke. This is not only devastating the local people with respiratory illnesses but the resulting acid rain is devastating the environment. Pollution is reducing drinkable water sources significantly and often planes are unable to land at the international airport due to smog white-out!

This province holds more people than many entire Western countries and is larger than many countries as well.

Think, yeah well that's just China and it's their problem - WRONG, VERY WRONG!

Get a couple of days worth of wind, and the front pages of the Hong Kong newspapers publish stories written by school children asking their governmnet to do something about their neighbours as their clean air is being polluted from across the border.

Think the same is not happening in all emerging countries/entire continents, Mexico, South America, China, Eastern Europe - India hasn't even got its sh1t together yet and they are almost the population of China.

Wont be long till the winds blow in the right directions and many clean and environmentally conscious countries start to breathe the same pollution.

This is a truly global problem that all countries need to start treating as the number one issue for this century.

I am no tree hugger by any stretch, wear leather goods and eat meat however, I have seen with my own eyes how we are killing our planet - it is so scary it is devastating.

Just a tip for the person who started this thread - when you are out on your lawn picking up dog poo due to it's greater level interest than global warming - do the following for a second.

"Hold the dog poo up to your nose, and breathe deeply, then place it in your mouth and experience the foul odours and textures of this natural "waste product". Then run a bath, place the poo in the bath and dive in. Like this? This is what you will be doing along with millions of others when our ocean levels rise, rendering millions homeless and in many cases putting entire countries underwater.

This is only naturally occuring waste and will eventually break down so that it does not fill your nostrils and pollute your food for the coming years.

The pollution that is the problem will not break down for many lifetimes to come - if at all.

So therefore if you like the smell and taste of the dog poo from your lawn and think your children and theirs will also enjoy this, then continue to ignore this problem and maybe go play your Xbox. Maybe Atlantis will be built by the time you finish Halo version 4916 and you can go live under the sea and watch the dog poo float by the window.

Otherwise, try to educate yourself about this as much a possible and join the chorus of intelligent people trying to direct governments in solving this issue - this is the only way we will haveour beautiful planet for generations to come.

Please everyone who reads this, jump on to google and search for the global march against global warming. Hopefully all of these likeminded demonstrators will finally get out global leaders to adopt the Kyoto protocol and begin to change things.

I belive that there is a pressent threat of global warming, and it shouldnt be ignored, but it shouldnt worry us that much either.
