For reasons unknown to the common man
you lay your life on the line
you do not seek praise,
you do not enter the limelight
but you are the shield
that keeps us safe at night

all hail the American soldier
their blood has paved the way
for liberty and justice
for all of us
on this American holiday

so as you have your cookout
with family and friends
remember
there are some amongst us
who will never see their loved ones again
bow your head in thanks
for these men and women
who never seek praise
but are the best of us
every single day

None truly understands the commitment to sacrifice our service members are willing to go to ensure the security of our country and our way of life. Our sons, daughters, brothers and sisters put themselves on the line on a daily basis with little return for their efforts.
thanks hammer

Hey HiTek, that's a GREAT quote from President Reagan! I only hope that the country learns it well. Props to your family for their service to the United States.
