I am not looking foward to it. They shouldn't execute him.

The things he did were inexcusable and unforgettable, but not unforgiveable. I don't think they should execute him unless they have to.

Excellent point.

My reason for it is that if he is exectuted, Iraq will explode (in the figurative sense).

"we forgive you sadam for killing and runing your people and turning them against our nation... no go and be free and have fun!"

one month later......

"10 planes hit random states today and the death toll keeps rising... we're now at 50000 people.... Sigh* if only we killed sadam instead of acting like a bunch of hippies........"

lol... ok so maybe it would play out exactly like that... but he shouldnt be allowed to live while great people die.... we need to balance things out and teach the mid east that we dont play..

Nope, there are things that are unforgivable. You just haven't had someone touch your own personal life in such an extreme matter that it affects you to the core. Plus, I don't think anyone here has anything vested in him or know him personally, so who gives a flying rats ass if they shove a sword up his ass and let him bleed out? He was found guilty, the death penalty will prevent him from ever doing anything remotely insaine ever again. I, for one, am all for that.

I give a rat's ass! Once hes gone the conservatives in Iraq will up and blow the marines away. And al-Quaeda would use it as an excuse to launch even more terrorist attacks on the west. Do you not understand? Islamic countries should not be treated as such. The very idea of democracy and many aspects of our western cultures are anathema to the religion. They do not have separation of church and state! and many very powerful islamic nations are ruled by fanatics and conservatives. The middle east is a region that should not have been touched by the West.

That's what I mean by inexcusable though. I definitely think he's screwed himself out of any right he ever had to be a part of society. Even if he repents, we will never be able to know that for sure and it would put the world at too much of a risk. But nobody deserves to be killed unless they unjustfully pose an immediate threat to someone else.

But I don't believe Sadaam was responsible for the WTC. He might've had a part in it. :D

In what way? You don't think the threat can be contained in a maximum security prison? I mean perhaps he can't, and in that case I guess if the only way to keep society safe is by killing him then it's justified. But do you really think that if he was in a maximum security prison, he'd still be a threat?

By the way, is that you in your avatar? :D

That's enough lover boy. LOL

Anyhoot, sentencing someone to prison for the rest of their life is a death sentence, just much, much more slowly. I shouldn't have to pay taxes for someone I want to see put to death as they so rightly deserve.

They are already killing marines, they are already killing soldiers, they are already killing sailors, what's to make them stop? The USA and all our allies running away cowering like scared dogs under our beds? I highly doubt the motives of the religious leaders is based solely on religious beleifs but on envy, and they use the religion to smear shit in impressionable, ignorant fools. If we show kindness, it is taken as weakness, you give an inch, they take a foot. When we rid those wastelands of extreme religious fanatasism there might actaully be a prospect of peace, untill then, we are always a target, we are always gonna be wondering when will they attack next. I mean I really don't like the French, but I have a really hard time imagining a Mime running a train into some important building.. (yes I know trains run on set tracks) trying to kill folks. On the other hand, I can easily imagine some middle easterner strapping some TNT to themselves and walking into a McDonalds. Cower if you like, but the line must be drawn in the sand, and I'm willing to stand up to it.

You think that he should be allowed to have a bed to sleep in and hot meals to eat and walls to keep him from the cold, when he kept so many of his people in constant torture? If they wopnt kill him at loeast put him through exactly what he made others suffer! In fact i believe that anyone who shoots, rapes, molests, stabs, ect. should be punished by experiencing exactly what he/she has done... but in reverse.... i think that may be a really good thing for our society...or not i dont know... i do think that sadam should die though.. but not in a nice leathal injection... no that would be too easy... he should be stoned or something.... and yes that is me in my avatar, not the best pic.. lol... but itll do

See I don't think it should be about giving anyone what they "deserve" because anything we do is more than Sadaam deserves. It'll never make up for what he did. I'm not saying he should be treated well by any means, but as long as he is under lock and key and isn't going to hurt anyone else I'm happy. They should give him no privileges. No chance whatsoever to say anything out to the public. He should be kept in one of those well-lit glass rooms with soldiers on all sides, and given nothing but a table with a chair to sit at. The table would be bolted down so he couldn't smash a window with it. When it comes time for a shower, they'd bring a hose into the room. No lights out for bedtime, which he would spend on the floor.

But I don't think they should mistreat him. Not put up with his shit, perhaps, but not mistreat him.Like I said, I don't believe it's about giving Sadaam what he deserves, but keeping him and society safe. Now if he's given no chance to say anything the public will ever hear, I would say society would be safe.

That pic is kind of small but you're cute. :D

Personally i think hanging or being shot is too quick for the guy i think he should be laid on his back and slowly have all his bones broke and be squeezed to death in a vice til his limbs seperate from his body. And then when he is almost unconouse stand over him with an axe and say this is for the american children budy and wack his head off.
Why? because A. People need to see that Americans may be the big brother s in the world but when we get messed with we hit back 1000 times harder.
B. If he is excuted this way and it is aired for every bastard out there that thinks its ok to kill 1000 of people american or not because he has issues, maybe he'll think twice about it.
and most of all if its aired Maybe they will learn how to fricken behave and get along with each other

Just the two cents from some one that had to go to three closed casket funerals now because of all of this shit.
P.S. i know a mother of one of the soliders that was killed and she said she would forgive any of her children but if they turned out to be monsters like those men over there she would be the first to shoot him in the head

nothing is forgivable but "he who is free of sin, shall cast the first stone..."

I am against the death penalty, i wont mind if he chooses to die, rather than spend his life in jail.

But i think NO HUMAN has the right to choose who dies and who doesn't, but i just think he should be locked up in a jail, you know forced vacation in guantanamo bay...

I was thinking more down the lines of impaling him. :D ...after we forgive the little bastard of course.

(But I do like your idea of "Slit his bag, then run his leg through it!")

I don't have the link handy, but there's a great video clip that may be found by searching for "Saddam's cat."
