No, just refusing (strongly) to leave. They might have had a just reason to drag him out in cuffs, but I think tazzing went way too far. In the old days, if some asshole was refusing to leave a place as asked by the proper authorities, they would just grab him, cuff him, and drag the asshole like a sack of potatoes; not taze the hell out of the jerk and then order him to "get up."..Taze him again and again while still yelling at him to get up and walk...this was, in my humble, abuse of power. http://forum.bullshit.com/images/icons/icon13.gif

I think what happened is he wouldn't show the cops his student ID. I can't say I blame him either, because that can be an invasion of privacy.

We need more cops like Dirty Harry. That would be awesome. :D

I can't say that I know what was going on. However; I can't help noticing how one-sided you both are.

For arguments sake: What if this man was causing a disturbance and refused to leave the library? What if he harassed and threatened the police officers? What if he attacked one?


It seems you are very willing to scream "injustice" without knowing all the facts. I don't know what happened and I am not making an opinion as of yet but I will say that in my opinion, TAZING is far better than being beaten or shot.

Seems like those cops created more of a disturbance, than the student did. Would they have tased him as many times as they did, if there were'nt any other students in the building? Those cops looked as big as nfl, football players. Shurly if he threatened them, he would have been on the floor and cuffed in a split second,and dragged away. That looked more like the "Gestappo", at work. Remember Kent State in 1971? The National (Gestappo) Guard, killed and wounded those students for "Protesting". So, put me on the list of being one sided also.
