What would you call it after Bush+Cheney, the Patriot act, two unessecary wars, Spying on American citizens, torture, Libby outing a CIA agent, renditions, freedom fries, Bill O'Rielly cutting the mike of the young man who lost his dad in 9/11 when the young man called him on putting words in his fathers mouth (Bill knew his dad so much better than his own son) and not much of a reaction from the people, no reaction from the Media. This nation has never been so far from it's ideals as in the last eight years.

My idea of patriotism is the willingness to go to any lengths EVEN DEATH to save a fellow American or make it safer for America to exist in the world. Prom, would you be willing to die to save...say.....Freak? Because, hell, I'm so patriotic I'd save your ass from death. And that's saying a lot. It's OUR DUTY, to protect our country, not just from foreign enemies, but from domestic also. Even if it's the government, which is supposed to listen to what the people want.

My idea of patriotism is walking out of a burning building covered in third degree burns holding a child, risking your life to save that child. Is that your idea? MY idea of patriotism is to support my fellow Americans, soldiers included no matter where they go, because if we don't support them, who else will? Not our enemies! Our allies have to deal with their troops so not them!! Prom, you are not a patriot if you would not be willing to die to save another American, no matter how much you hate them, you are not a patriot if you would not WILLINGLY go into that building to save another man's child, you are not a patriot if you do not support another American, even a soldier no matter what they may do.

At least, in my eyes. So...according to MY definition of patriotism, are you a patriot?

Here's a tip for the future. Presenting a defenition then saying it's obvious isn't...anything really. Which is why it isn't done anywhere when presenting a case, theory, or anything else. Evolution wouldn't have got off the ground if darwin just stood there and said "we evolved from apes, look around it's obvious!", massive amounts of data was collected and organised with explanations.
