I had to message Phoenix about freespeech. I wasn't calling for Prom to be banned. I'm done threatening. If the rest of the site would choose to mature, and like Prom said, I might stay. I think it is more than that. It seems lately that there are times any attempt at debate flies out the window. I will admit my darling husband gives as good as he gets. And gets in the important word there. What I think Rise finally saw was that we have some folks here who just start trouble, and who go beyond any decency in their attacks. I believe that his is disappointed in one member in particular because he thought so highly of many of his ideas. But I can't know what is in Rise's mind, it'd just my best guess.

I've been here off and on for a couple of years. There are only 3 people I can remember Freak getting into a war of insults with, Beelzebub, TheMeMan, and you. Plenty of people from the left side of the political spectrum have come and gone without a peep out of Freak. I think you exaggerate his influence on new members. I never agreed with that post and even confronted Freak about it in the middle of mine & Promo's argument. I don't think anyone thinks a post like Freak's was in good taste. The point is, I have engaged in plenty of debates here with the focus on facts and myths without losing my temper. When Promo responds to a conflicting view, it's not about the issue, it's about the person who responds and it's in the form of threats, insults, and/or profanity. The result is as expected.

Although Freak DOES post some ranting threads (mainly against Islam) I haven't seen him this riled up on a personal level in a while.. but it's not hard to see why.

I have to disagree with you on that one. Freak was making a point that, if you lived in any of those Islamic countries which he surmises you are sympathetic to, you and your family would be at the risk of suffering such atrocities. The fact that he speaks out against the leaders of such countries would suggest that he doesn't think anyone's children really should be stomped to death, as that is his argument against Islamic nations.

He just said it in such a way as to invoke an emotional response from you. It is fairly obvious to me that Freak would never actually advocate such things.

This is a discussion thread, if you bring up a point it will be discussed, not simply heeded as if the pope himself had said it. The point of your post in that thread was to redeem yourself as a patriot; the responses you received explained exactly why we question your patriotism and why your explanation was inadequate.

Instead of getting pissed off at people for "not listening", you could just try explaining yourself. The world through your eyes is not as obvious to everyone else as it is to you, as we have not had the same experiences as you have.
