Where on God's Green Earth did you find that crap. Did you bother to fact check it, or just post it because it sounded good, and supported your point. You say that those are FBI statistics but for the majority that is a lie, utter and total BS.

The FBI through it's UCR or Uniform Crime Report collects and compiles information sent to it by local and state police departments on a very small list of mostly felonies and only a few misdemeanors. They would not have information about traffic stops or babies born.

A web search just found those numbers linked to the same site you sourced it to. No one else independently listed them. So I went to the FBI site and their list of reports and publications and guess what- no mention of it at all.

I think I proved that there was no publication by the FBI concerning those matters, I even covered what was in their publications. Their web site seems to be very thorough as to what they have put out. If it isn't there, where did the posters on the blog site Freak copied and pasted it from find it?

Bottom line... I believe the ones that are here “Illegally” should be given a chance to make it legal. I live in central mexico, the country's capital, and the newspapers recently report that unemployment in Mexico is up slightly, to almost 6 percent.

I have several mexican friends here who run businesses, each employing over 200 people, and they report that it's still difficult to find workers who really want to work. These are light factory jobs, nothing glamorous or high-paying, but enough to modestly take care of your family.
They've often complained that in Monterrey and northern cities the employees are pretty good workers but when you seek employees in the central & south parts of the country, they're just too lazy and unwilling to work their way up the ladder.
So some of these make their way up to the northern border and cross into the U.S. and try to find "good jobs". Illegal, but paying better wages.
President Calderon's government here is doing everything they possibly can to create more jobs in order to keep his citizens at home but obviously can't compete directly with wages being paid in the U.S.
I have met many, many mexicans here who've been to the U.S. to work, and they truely feel it's their right to go there illegally. They think the "capture & repatriate" policy is a joke and a minor inconvenience for them. They laugh about their experiences being caught by Border Patrol, and feel very fortunate that it's American officers handling them, and not Mexican officers. Treatment is great, compared to how the Mexicans treat illegal aliens caught in Mexico. (they rape, rob & beat them when they catch Central American illegals here.)
Just like in the U.S., if you really want to work your way up and become successful here in Mexico, you can most definitely do it just like it's done in other parts of the world.
Living in Mexico is often used as a bogus excuse for everything from laziness to illegal emmigration to commiting crimes. Educated, sincere mexicans bemoan this fact every day and feel very sad about the direction their country is going. The latest Pew Research Center survey done here recently indicates a third of mexicans would like to come to the U.S. if they could, and half of those said they'd do it illegally.
So for those of you who want to throw the doors open, be prepared for 40 million mexicans to show up. If you keep the doors closed, however, only 20 million wil try to get in (illegally) according to the survey.

I've lived here 8 years now and it's become a sad mess during those years, when 78 percent of a country's citizens are unhappy about their country. Some observers even call it a powder-keg, just waiting to explode.

People I didn’t even know would invite me over for dinner or to watch a movie and sometimes the initial introductions to these people would happen right at their own dinner tables.

Where was I going with my previous comment about Americans? I do think that way too many people are only out for themselves, and maybe their families. A lot of people scramble to make sure they’re own situation is taken care of and screw everyone else in order to reach that point. Why is it some of us are quick to eat each other alive at the mall during Christmas shopping? Why is it some of us are infatuated with using new hot clothes and new cars and new boats as status symbols. There seems to be a big difference in the overall mindset and focus of general values with people here in the states.
