For many years there have been computer viruses, many are being made for "kicks." but i am growing more concerned with the fact that every day, more and more systems are attacked by corporations, rather than that high school outcast. these ADWARE VIRAL and TROJAN programs, are many times made for profit, why should companies have to give us fake alerts about our system registry, and more importantly why isnt anyone doing anything about it, i know symantec isn't. CA is one of the few who are ahead of the curve, but last i heard they were still trying to stop DRIVECLEANER. Many websites are actually paid to "atract costumers" with these phony adware programs, such as w32beenut and silly.pd. some of these sies are hyip.com and needfares.com why hasb=nt the governemnt done anything, so i would like to ask "have you ever had any of these problems?"

I put "No, this has never happened to me," because it really hasn't happened since the one time over a year ago I was stupid enough to leave the anti-virus down with the network up. Within minutes my computer then crashed, and when I booted up nothing was really right. Then I went into the system folder and found that files were disappearing one by one. I panicked and reformatted, and then it was fine. But that was so long ago, and I've learned how to avoid all forms of PC threats now.

I have only had problems with viruses once, but i, for some reason am a popular target for companys travel agents and "anti spyware programs" that are obvious cons. I have never fallen for these "your computer is infected" tricks as the one shown here (http://www3.ca.com/securityadvisor/virusinfo/virus.aspx?ID=57168)
This is a real antivirus site, and thir software is free for anyone who has been using DSL with either yahoo or att (formely sbc)
But related to the pole, i have never had serious problems with viruses, but with adware, ohhh.... i have started a little adware to send these guys of my own...

You should clean your Pc from viruses, but you should do that with a very good anti-virus software such as Kaspersky (http://www.trustdownload.com/Antivirus-and-Spyware-Cleaners/Antivirus/Kaspersky-Internet-Security-7.0.html) that I sincerely recommend it to you. I use this one too and I'm fully satisfied with it, it works very well for me. You should try it too!
