As above, state what you think would make an ideal democracy.:p (Please try to make them valid points)
Mine are-
Bill of Rights
Separation of Church and State (this is really badly needed)
Separation of Powers (i.e. judiciary, legislative, executive)
Compulsory Voting
No direct presidential elections - party elections only
Freedom of Speech
Bicameral Parliament
Educational Criteria for political candidates
Racial, Orientation and Gender Equity
Right to bear arms (only if heavily monitored and controlled)
ABORTION

The only good government is governed only by politicians whose brains are riddled with bullets.

i agree with your points of reason:
I myself would add a few details like lowering the drinking age, to get rid of the taboo. LOL
just for the record... i used to think you were cool mr.septem... i dont anymore... Anarchi is never the answer, since those who propose it, are usually those who are least addapted to live in this form of rule, or lack of rule.
See, anarchy implies that only the strongest live... those who have better weapons or the biggest clan, or those who can deffend themselves the best. The problem with anarchy is that it would cause the following:
lack of schools, and education
lack of jobs
lack of equality to others
increase in violence
decrease in safety (eg police.)
starvation
immorality
and with time:
no power
no water treatmant plants
no food but the one we grow in our backyards
slavery
Anarchy is never the answwer, especially if you bleive in jebus and the holly bibel

Anarchy would work if people did the right thing for the sake of doing the right thing. Doing the right thing means shit if you're not doing it for the right reasons. If everyone worked together, then those who would destroy society can be rooted out.

Then it would be a direct democracy.

I've got news for you, Al Qaeda is not an anarchist organization. They also don't believe in the U following the Q; it is against their religion. Or will at the very least piss them off.
Facist pig.

Who would make and enforce laws? Society cannot exist without the law. Questio quid juris?

There is no law; there is what society will allow and what society will not allow, and what society should not allow is anything that would interfere with peace. And will you please speak fucking English.

You cannot have anarchy as a form of society, hierarchies are synonymous with human civilization. It would eventually form into an autocracy.
Questio Quid Juris = Latin for Where is the law?

I agree that anarchy is somewhat idealistic, but the idea is a starting point.
The hell with law. I do what I believe is right, not what the government tells me is right.

I think democracy is the closest were going to get to it. True, it would be nice to let the people make their own governing choices, but it is an impractical system on a large scale.
