Accepted the Sadam was a ruthless murderer. and as such will get little sympathy on this website, But you have to agree he kept a ruthless lid on a very ruthless country, a country he knew how to deal with.

I did not agree with his hanging. He was like an ACE card, the US could have treatned the Iraqi people with putting him back in charge for a year or two if they didnt behave themselves. In the meantime he could have been a tourist attraction on alcatraz.

No, it was a dog-and-pony show to hold a fair trial for one of humanity's most hated and murderous monsters. I wondered why the soldiers who caught him in his hole didn't fire one through the head and claim he was an immediate threat... would have been much quicker and there would be little opposition to that extent.
