Let me say this. The anti gay law in the bible is obsolete.

"No man shalt lie with another man as he does with a woman"

This is due to the fact it was written in a nomadic society where they had to enforce conception. Look at a settled society like ancient greece. They had to control their high birth rates by founding colonies and yet homosexuality was quite normal.

The reason people still believe that homosexuality is a sin is because they are conservative. QED .

I'm against all blue laws regaurdless of what their intent is. It's rediculous that men and women of some form of edjumakation rely on their faith to try and pass laws that their only bias is from their faith.

There's nothing wrong with being a homosexual, only for two men or two women to have sex. It is a misuse of our sexuality.

You can't stand halfway on the fence on that. I don't agree with that either. I don't believe that they should act as homosexuals at all.

Yo dont you listen? Those junk laws in leviticus and exodus are just that; junk. They were written for a nomadic and primitive society (compared to say, Hellenic or Roman civilisation)

We can't know that for sure. I wish we were capable of being exact in the meaning of the Bible, but there is no certain way to know exactly what the intent was when they wrote it down. No doubt when the bible was written it was a very pro-creative time period, but that is all that we can say about it.

How come homosexuality wasnt a bad thing until abrahamic religions came along then?

Btw, did you know judaism is believed to have been derived from Atenism, you know that heretical cult in Ancient Egypt?

Can't say that I did. I am not a history buff as they say. I can see you have studied this quite a lot, you have hit me at my weakest point.:D That does not mean I am going to back down though.

I find the future more interesting because it hasn't occured yet. And just as well I am, as they say, and audio buff. My extracuricular study goes into electronics and such, because they are awesome. I am also, very slowly, getting into computers. I don't like computers sometimes, but then and again I use one.:D

Well yes, for two men or two women to have a sexual relationship is wrong too. But if someone is born gay it doesn't mean they're going to hell all of a sudden, because God doesn't condemn us for how we're born.

so you would have someone suppress that part of themselves that, by your admission, is not a choice. Why? For YOUR OWN security? How do they effect you? Are you afraid that by making homosexuality acceptable you will have to face urges that are now "OK" for you to face...cuz i see no other reason for your paranoia. And these people are experiencing emotions and urges that are a result of their existence. If you beleive in God you believe HE pput them in this existence and also that he knew they would be gay. So why would his law forbid his own creation?

I'd stop bitching about gays and abortion if it didn't affect me and other people.

But as it is, it does affect me. I have to put up with gay people that have the audacity to not keep a lid on it when they know I'm obviously not gay, I have to put up with the shit in society. It's all over TV and in commercials. So yes, it fucking does affect me.

And abortion affects millions of people, although only slightly (they are brutally murdered). And it could've affected me too. It does affect me, in fact, because my mother was pro-choice. That means, if you're thick, that there was a time my mother didn't love me enough to believe I deserved to live if she decided she didn't want me.

At least Christians don't harass you or say shit they know you're uncomfortable with, and if they do they need to learn social skills.

No, it still does affect me and all of society. Shit, anyone who thinks there was a time I personally was worthless enough to not deserve to live if my mother didn't want me deserves to be punched in the face, repeatedly.

Like I said, if they do, they need to learn social skills. But if they're not saying it around you and are just saying it in general, it's not the same. For instance, you don't need to be a part of this forum or conversation if it bothers you. But debating is what you're here for, I'd imagine.

Abortion is one thing we used to argue a lot about. She liked to argue. Not debate, though, just the conflict. It never really even came up until the 2000 presidential election, though, and she died just a few years after that.
