Here's one for you all.
Do you think the no sex rule should be dropped as far as priest go, I heard an old man speaking tonight about how if they allowed priest there would be no molestations going on. Me personally i feel like it has nothing to do with sex but is a form of control over another person. What do you think?

In the orthodox church (which is basically just as conservative as the catholic church) preists can have sex and marry but they cant become bishops.
And yes. preists should be allowed to have sweet sweet sex.:D

As I stated in the other thread, priests are priests for one reason, and that is to symbolize and become Christ as the bridegroom of the Church in the celebration of the Eucharist. Women cannot symbolize the bridegroom because women are brides, and married men cannot symbolize the bridegroom because that would mean they'd have two wives.
The percentage of priests who molest children is actually lower than that among non-clergy. The priests are the ones that get all the attention because the news outlets are subsidized by the government to supress free thinking, including religion.

Just a slight correction. The number of priests CAUGHT molesting children is lower than among non-clergy.
We KNOW the vatican has a policy of covering up these disgusting acts.

I was never big on Catholisism, and when that stuff started happening seemingly everywhere, I have to say it didn't improve my feelings about it.

Actually though it isn't advised, a person can still become a priest even if he is married. Now once he becomes a priest he cannot marry after that.

According to the report made by the BMJ editor, her care facilities were way sub par and it appeared that the money she got went to the church and not to charity.

As I told you. She got money from donators and gave it to the church rather than improving her healthcare facilities. And she was more interested in baptising the patients than improving their health.

Maybe she did do some things that we can look at now a say that there was a better way to handle that. But try to look at her intentions. Granted, if she truly did baptise those who were expressly unwilling this was wrong. But some people's faith is so strong that they "KNOW" what they're doing is for the greater good, regardless of what others may say. She wasn't hurting anyone through her deeds, but she could have done them better. The point is that she was doing what she thought was right, and this did not include anything like suicide bombing or starting wars.

One of their writers wrote some bullshit about someone and pissed a lot of people off, so I just figured it was all the same guy. All the same, I don't read the guardian because of shit like what you posted. I like how they conveniently forget to mention that they were only doing what they thought best at the time (they didn't want to cause a scandal) and they don't do that shit anymore.
How the hell could the Vatican cover it up anyway? They're not the ones in charge of criminal investigation behind these borders.
