I find the move that considers that life begins at conception to be so whacked out. If life begins at conception, then god is the biggest abortionist in town and so how can abortions offend god? Reason, around 20% of all pregnancies end in a miscarriage. So if life does, in fact, begin at conception then god is responsible for terminating that pregnancy early, meaning aborting it.

I, for one, do not believe in god, but there are a majority of pro-life extremists that are christian and do believe in such a thing.

Well, duh. Christians just happen to be the biggest supporters of the pro life movement. They would have accepted abortion if it was their idea first, but since it wasn't they got to be the antagonist in this short story.

I agree, it's all true.

That's not any different than saying God is a murderer simply because people die.

The reason murder is wrong is for the very reason that God and only God knows when it's the best time for each of us to die. In other words, it's God's choice when we die, not ours.

Well, then if I murder someone, it would have been technically through "your gods" want for someone to die. Don't think that would hold up in court, do ya?

Well no. Murder is the willfull death of a human against God's will and according to someone else's will. God doesn't want anyone to murder anyone; if He did, He would not have said "thou shall not commit murder".

Then clearly god does not know the time for us to die.

Clearly? The fuck where'd you get your glasses from? I think they gave you the cardboard box instead of the actual lenses.

Of course God knows when it's time for us to die, but what can He do if someone whacks someone before then? Nothing that doesn't involve interfering with free will.

Ok, so then why do we have free will again?

And I do not have glasses:P

Ok, so "god" know's when it's our time to die right. So, "it" knows that someone is going to murder someone. So, then it's "god's" will that the person is to die.

Where'd ya get your religion from? Walmart? Seems funnier then some glasses comment.

Because without free will, there'd be little point in our existence. We'd just all be robots, like 1984 or Alex from A Clockwork Orange.

Ok, so we have the freedom to kill each other in horrible ways and molest children to "give point to our existence"?

Not necessarily, just because God knows about something doesn't mean He's willing it to happen.

According to you "it" willed us into creation knowing all that we would do. Therefore "it" willed someone to commit murder.

what a wonderful way to destroy a thread.

For one thing, if there is a god, then yes we are like "robots". god has everything all planned out for us, correct? god has some sort of plan for all of us and according to it, we all follow a certain path that god has already chosen for us, correct? So, if this were actually true, then I guess we are more like puppets. So yes, your "god" is the biggest abortionist, murderer and sinner there is. More importantly, the biggest hypocrite of all!

You're looking at A and C and assuming there's a B in between them. This is highly illogical. God created us, period. We did what we wanted to after that. Just because God knows something is going to happen doesn't mean He's ok with it. He just doesn't want to interfere with free will.
