I love squirrels... and I hate them

I love them because they´re intelligent, have funny body language and are superior in physical prowess. :) I hate them because their female throws the male out of the nest once the young are born and doesn´t allow him to take part in their upbringing. The male lets the bitch do this to him! :mad:

I was reading about that. According to my sources, they say that when squirrels see cars coming, they attempt to divert it by running towards it and then strafing to one side to confuse the driver. I once saw this once and it almost worked... until the squirrel got squashed by one of the back wheels.

Yeah... My Dad and I went squirrel "huntin" for years. They are tasty when you can get them.

You shoot a squirrel and it finds anyway to hide before death. We would look for hours for a dead squirrel before finding it (sometimes). Squirrels build elaborate nests in trees constructed or twigs and leaves that can resist normal winter gales. They have complex social interactions that are unique to many other mammals. They are able to crack many "squirrel proof" bird feeders.
