This is a PM I sent Yee-haw concerning beelze_____'s nonsense and madness...


I understand, but the problem is we have a forum now filled with far less quality people and far less friendly and mature than before and all any group would have to do is gang up on an "unpopular person" and vote them out. It'll never work. No possible way. Besides, what if a person is voted out by a few people in a given amount of time when some members have not been around for a while that could have voted FOR a person rather than against them?

That is why I posted my comment in beelze_____'s thread that it was total bullshit. And, since when does beelze___ make the rules by himself?

I see this as a way for promoIDIOT and his gang to take control of BS and rule it. Unpopular views will be censored as will those that post them.

Dude, this is madness. Total madness. I understand how you feel, BS is filled with a bunch of whiners! But, there is a better way...

** I have an alternative process...

1. Let a vote happen if needed, BUT, have a BS version of the Electoral College. The popular vote results are, more or less, seen as one vote when completed and a mod has the second vote; unless BOTH agree, a person is not banned, disciplined or brought back (I.e., nothing is done if both institutions are not in agreement).

2. Also NO VOTE is taken unless a mod agrees that we need one or else we will have "votes" all over the damn forum for anything that some cry baby is hurt over.

3. ONLY a mod can officially call for and agree to a vote! NO ONE ELSE. Anyone can request a vote, a mod has to agree to have one, AND...

4. A person calling for a vote MUST show good cause for one with evidence of same. Also, the person or persons making the accusation (including a mod) must post said accusation in a public thread for public consideration. Rebuttals from the accused must also be public for all to read and comment on. All comments must be considered by a mod. Rebuttal time must be reasonable giving the accused time to formulate and post his or her rebuttal.

5. No vote will happen until a person accused has had time to write a rebuttal against what he or she is accused of, if a mod believes that such a rebuttal has refuted what they are accused of there is no vote and the matter is closed.

6. Also, institute a BS version of the First Amendment with STRICT ENFORCEMENT.

7. Consideration must be given to a forum wide recommendation that members place the accused on their ignore list as FIRST and final solution to a person accused of a violation of the TOS. In other words...

- A recommendation to the voting membership to "ignore list a person" MUST appear in the vote choices list. I.e., that the the accused be placed in your ignore list as an alternative to banning. Ergo; The voters herein recommend the accused be...

* Ignored __

* Banned __

* Temporarily banned (time to be determined by the mod who approved of the vote) __

* Not Banned and acquitted __

Four choices only.

In other words, it should be the policy of the voting institution to seek to solve the problem preferring the use of the ignore list and NOT banning. Banning should be viewed as a last and drastic resort used carefully. Or say it this way; Banning a person must be done when it is obvious and overwhelmingly apparent that they should be banned IF THERE IS NO OTHER ALTERNATIVE AVAILABLE. Not viewed in a frivolous manner used as revenge or a flame tactic.

8. Voting threads must remain open for a minimum of 14 days and must be sticky'd. That will give members time to carefully think over their vote. We don't need to be in as hurry. It will also give us time for appropriate debate.

9. Mods must, from time to time, during the voting period, proactively remind members to vote in announcements in public threads or PMs if deemed needed.

10. No banning of a person is absolute and permanent; if the accused can present evidence that he was wrongfully accused and banned, the mod who approved of the vote can overturn the banning and reinstate the accused. Voting members can post rebuttal that must be considered by the mod who approved of the vote.

THE most important principle here is "balance of power." REMEMBER...Power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely!

That way we will not have mob rule. We will have something much closer to democracy.

If these measure are not adopted I can guarantee you that BS will die and will be taken over by self serving people like promo, his wife and beelze_____.

What I wrote is for PERM-BANNING. The mod may temporarily ban at his/her discression.

There needs to be only two choices. Perm-Banned or Not Perm-Banned. That's it.

Exactly. We need to manifest the government of bullshit.com. I could begin working on modeling a BS Constitution out of the US constitution.

e.g. the moderator would act as the president, and the people would act as both the congress and judiciary branch. If the congress made a law, then the mod could veto it, but congress could overturn the veto. That's one idea I've got going.

For example, the right not to incriminate yourself wouldn't make much sense here, because all the evidence is on the forum, you wouldn't need it. Or the right to protection against unreasonable search and seizure. And our board is too small to have a clearly defined populace, congress, and judicial system.

That being said, we definitely seem to have a problem with making the 'rules' up as we go along. Most forums have a "Forum Rules - Please Read" sticky somewhere within with all rules spelled out. So if the rules read 'Do not post about Idaho potatoes' and someone does, stupid rule or not, the rules were stated clearly and the consequences for violation are carried out by the forum moderator.

Thusfar, I have yet to see any rules, other than the standard vBulletin BS that nobody follows anyway.
