What do you think of genetic engineering for purposes such as food or medicine, such as creating higher yield crops or eliminating defective genes that cause disease?

I have absolutly no problem w/ genetic engineering any which way. I'd like to genetically alter any child I may have to have certain traits. This shit could be really fucking cool.

Every time we fuck with nature, we cause problems.
Leave it the hell alone already. You don't know what the fuck you're doing.

How exactly? Its due to them that many potatoes are frost resistant and can be harvested throughout the year. And because of them we have the human genome.
It may be because of them that the famine in Africa is solved. .

I'll give you an example. Spinach nowadays doesn't have a tenth the nutrients it used to. How do you explain that?

Are you sure said spinach is GM?

Ok, and your evidence for this would be?
And are you sure said spinach is GM?
My evidence is that I heard it somewhere. I don't feel like looking it up to make sure.
Am I sure? No, I asked how you explain that.

I would attribute it to lack of nutrients in the soil or perhaps something else. And unless you can show that the spinach is GM then you cant really say that GE is the cause of it.
