Of course not. But that's all I'm saying. It shouldn't be so hard to understand. Everyone over 18 are going pay taxes, some more, some less, but everybody pay something.

I could agree on that, but who wouldn't?

They're considered non-profit organizations, because all of their money comes from donations. So yes, they should be tax exempt.

So hard working people that pay taxes give them donations so they don't have to pay taxes, while the only thing they're doing is talk about Jesus and god wahtever there is in the bible? I call that being lazy.

We do a lot for charity too. Just recently we raised a ton of money for victims of Hurricane Katrina, and also collected several bags full of clothing for a local homeless shelter, and by the way, I don't know of a single homeless shelter in this city that is not religious-based.

Did you guys actually weigh the money to find out if it was a ton or not?

So what? Just becouse you do religius carity so should you be given tax examinations. There's a lot of non religus charity organisations, and thay pay taxes.

Something is right, many secular charities are not given tax exemptions. Also religions still shouldnt be given them, have you seen how wealthy the various churches are anyway, they are misers.

Well you are some kind of organisation that make money, becouse if you emidiatly used your money to charity, wouldn't you be able to expand, and it's hard to belive that you make all your money on donations, you must have some other way to get money.

Well, we don't that I know of. We get maybe 500 people a week and we have a small Church. In all we raise around $5000 a week from donations. That's not bad but none of it is profit.

But even if it's donations should you still pay taxes for them, becouse you make this money when you promise to do something for them, it's just like selling stuff. You give a donations to a company, and you get a sellphone or a comicbook or anything. And you get donations, and you do charity and stuff that the people like. Isn't that about the same thing?

If the church is so charitable, how come you build extravagant churches, golden chalices and the clergy wears silk?

I think they should have to pay taxes my x mother in laws preacher didnt have to and he would take all of the collections that were given each sunday and put in his pocket. Apparently if you are a preacher in louisiana this is acceptable. I find this wrong this man once told one of his particiners that asked if they could give their ties to another church ( 10 % of all wages before tax) he said would you bite the hand that feeds you in other words his answer was no told her that because he was the one that instructed her in god word that he should get the money) I had a real big proplem with this.
I also had a big problem with the ties thing and having to pay 10% of your wages ( what would have been your wages before taxes are taken out) because god should come before goverment. This is one of the many many reasons why i hate religon it just goes to show you that these so called preachers are out for themselves.

So i think they should tax the hell out of these bastards and make them suffer along with all their so called lambs.

Clergymen teach charity is good, this is all well, since they live on alms. It is beggars who teach charity itself.

If there is one group of people who shouldn't have to pay taxes it sure as hell shouldn't be the churches. It should be those who serve their government ie: soldiers and sailors....ok I'm a little biased but I figure after 4 paychecks I am paying myself in taxes :D

Well public servants should be tax exempt to a degree, as they are giving labour to the govt. instead of money.

I agree with Who military and police shouldnt pay taxes for the simple fact that they volunteer their lives everyday for others. That alone should be enough

It's true, but the problem is that it will be many people that wont have to pay taxes, and that will give less income to the guverment, but if it turns out I'm wrong, and it wont affect the guverment so much, am I on your side.;)
