yup, that about sums it up. Except, just try and enter Mexico illegally...
Mexico welcomes only foreigners who will be useful to Mexican society:
Foreigners are admitted into Mexico "according to their possibilities of contributing to national progress." (Article 32)
Immigration officials must "ensure" that "immigrants will be useful elements for the country and that they have the necessary funds for their sustenance" and for their dependents. (Article 34)
Foreigners may be barred from the country if their presence upsets "the equilibrium of the national demographics," when foreigners are deemed detrimental to "economic or national interests," when they do not behave like good citizens in their own country, when they have broken Mexican laws, and when "they are not found to be physically or mentally healthy." (Article 37)
The Secretary of Governance may "suspend or prohibit the admission of foreigners when he determines it to be in the national interest." (Article 38)
Mexican authorities must keep track of every single person in the country:
Federal, local and municipal police must cooperate with federal immigration authorities upon request, i.e., to assist in the arrests of illegal immigrants. (Article 73)
A National Population Registry keeps track of "every single individual who comprises the population of the country," and verifies each individual's identity. (Articles 85 and 86)
A national Catalog of Foreigners tracks foreign tourists and immigrants (Article 87), and assigns each individual with a unique tracking number (Article 91).
Foreigners with fake papers, or who enter the country under false pretenses, may be imprisoned:
Foreigners with fake immigration papers may be fined or imprisoned. (Article 116)
Foreigners who sign government documents "with a signature that is false or different from that which he normally uses" are subject to fine and imprisonment. (Article 116)
Foreigners who fail to obey the rules will be fined, deported, and/or imprisoned as felons:
Foreigners who fail to obey a deportation order are to be punished. (Article 117)
Foreigners who are deported from Mexico and attempt to re-enter the country without authorization can be imprisoned for up to 10 years. (Article 118)
Foreigners who violate the terms of their visa may be sentenced to up to six years in prison (Articles 119, 120 and 121). Foreigners who misrepresent the terms of their visa while in Mexico -- such as working with out a permit -- can also be imprisoned.
Under Mexican law, illegal immigration is a felony. The General Law on Population says,
"A penalty of up to two years in prison and a fine of three hundred to five thousand pesos will be imposed on the foreigner who enters the country illegally." (Article 123)
Foreigners with legal immigration problems may be deported from Mexico instead of being imprisoned. (Article 125)
Foreigners who "attempt against national sovereignty or security" will be deported. (Article 126)
Mexicans who help illegal aliens enter the country are themselves considered criminals under the law:
A Mexican who marries a foreigner with the sole objective of helping the foreigner live in the country is subject to up to five years in prison. (Article 127)
Shipping and airline companies that bring undocumented foreigners into Mexico will be fined. (Article 132)

Not only do they not want to sign the guest book, they don't want to pay for the dinner. We get to pick up the tab. Welcome to "obamaland."

...and we might have to follow them, Hitek.
Most of the Mexican's I know are from California or from "Authentic Mexican Restaurants". The one's I know either have the right legal papers before they got to come over here and live, or come over on a temporary pass. There is one that's here illegally, but he doesn't draw welfare, stamps, or get medicare. He works 10-12 hours a day to make a living. I do not doubt there are plenty here that do get some form or another of aide form the government, but you can't place all of them in that category. Here in KY you could classify hillbilly's in the same respect, the general stereotype here is that most people in the mountains that isn't working in the coal mines are drawing a check. I would not doubt, however, that companies who own these restaurants/farms or some factories bring these people in by the ass load and help them get assistance. What are the actual statistics, fuck, I don't know! But I'm not going to generalize bullshit of our governments mismanagement of the situation of now and the past on these people.

as someone who really believes we need comprehensive immigration reform, i don't think it's just the mexicans...you have the chinese, taiwanese, and a few other ese's getting brought over hidden in boats, you have haitians coming on innertubes and liferafts, hell, you even have people from the baltics entering the country illegally...it's just that the majority of illegals are mexican and i can tell you from personal experience that they use our resources without any consideration of the consequences, i.e. higher taxes and costs for those who legitimitly use our system...and on another point, the majority of illegal mexicans are as you describe...hardworking, law-abiding family folk...but the ones that abuse our system and hospitality are bad enough they overshadow them

Right on, hitek. The stereotypical view of whining white guys that don't want to work with their hands but complain about Mexicans is a vastly misunderstood myth. Anyone who doubts it is a myth needs to visit the county hospital, or try to find steady construction work without speaking spanish.
I used to live in eastern KY, a friend of mine here in TN says that franklin KY has a serious issue with the mexicans, How true is this?
Hm... I'm not to sure about Franklin, but in Pike county there are more and more every year looking for work. Most of the constructions jobs and landscaping is done by foreign people. Hell, all the jobs that our local Lowe's hires to do it's outside displays is by a group of Mexican/Spanish speaking people that couldn't even order McDonald's for lunch unless they pointed at the picture. But, with that being said; this has been a vastly secluded place for the most part, and I've seen more and more Black(though not considered on this topic), Indian and Vietnamese people at the local Wal-Mart with them.
On another note: I DO consider this a big problem. I love other cultures, and exploring different peoples and differences between us. But I DO NOT want to be overrun by outside influences. If I CHOOSE to pick up the habits, then it should be of my own accord. Anyway, I still can't blame our government woes on them. It's the same as if I was to go live in China. But I don't speak Chinese and the government just happen to let me slide through the paper work, although the locals despise Americans. It would not be my fault if the government didn't turn me around and send me back the way I came like they should have.( I don't think they'd give me any type of financial help though, unless it's in the form of hard labor construction with high chances of death intended for population control)
Haha! I guess all in all, you could try hate crimes or bullying them around every corner to try and sway their minds. That's not for me.
Edit: This just resurfaced in my mind so adding it in an edit.
I think a lot of our labor unions have something to do with it. Look at it from a business stand point of view. All your workers are complaining about wanting higher wages or better working conditions, even for some of the most simple jobs that was done for less(I.E. stocking shelves at a grocery store) by plenty of Americans back in the day, granted many of them may not have had much choice, but most would say it wasn't as bad as it could have seemed. So I think as my point of view would tell me that, that would have made some companies look else where for cheaper labor. So as immigrants grew in the U.S. companies started cashing in. I bet as far back as the great depression.
Well. That's my two cents. Any other information on yee-haw's question and my rant would be insightful.

Yes. This is beginning to be more than a problem. A burden on our later generations which the past two presidential adminastrations don't seem to care about.
