Your boy Cenk Uygur seems to have forgotten who's in charge now.Joe Main is the Assistant Secretary of Labor for Mine Safety and Health ,he was nominated to serve the position by Barack Obama .But good old boy Cenk Uygur still wants to blame Bush for the recent mine deaths.Typical liberal.

Actually, i believe Prom has unknowingly hit the one industry where his evil corporate structure is a reality, for i dbout that he has actually taken the time to research the history of the coal mine, especially those in WV. For, you see (no not that see), I come from a coal mining family.

In the early days of the coal industry, Unionization was discouraged at the point of a gun or worse. Miners were not paid in currency but in "script" a psudo coinage that the coal company authorized. It was used in the Company store to buy groceries, clothing, and to pay the rent on the company house yu and your family lived in.
The coal company used this formula to keep the miners exactly where they wanted them, in the mines. How could you move when you have no skills and more importantly, no money.

With the coming of the United Mine Workers of AMerica, many Companies were forced to enter the 19th century, but it came with a price as many union organizers and sympathizers were killed or worse, fired from their jobs.

In the early days of the UMWA, Many lives were saved because the union was NOT afraid of calling STRIKE when the coal companies were found to be in violation of the contract.

The coal industry is one in which the sins that are committed, are literly buried under the earth.

promo, why don't you (a mostly unemployed rehab inmate) tell us "dumb conservatives," how to fix the world's problems. Pick a few big ones and tell us how to solve the problems in you OWN words, not a bunch of crap you copy from some left-winged loony website.

Dazzle us with your knowledge and experience. Don't bitch about a problem, just post your words of wisdom on how to solve a few.

We'll be waiting.

I don't know mooreed all that well, but his post was from his heart. Yet, you still insult him judging him NOT to be as he said he is, from a coal mining family. Did you even ask or challenge him on what he said? No you just insulted him and without using the word, called him a liar.

Why do you do this?

You know, I bet deep inside you are a smart person, but it is buried like so many miners are.

I too take exception to your comment. I'd venture to guess that conservatives are quite adept at producing history for what it is/was without the need for revision as many a liberal progressive engages in.

Case in point - one Woodrow Wilson. G'head - dispute THAT. Show me just how big a fool you can make yourself out to be in two paragraphs or less.

I think it's fairly obvious to everyone that there are some extremely shady, occaisionally outright wrong ways of making money in a capitalist society.

Not that it doesn't happen elsewhere though.

Yep, it's safe to say there are greedy assholes in the world as we know it.

What is totally unacceptable is that Unions, once revered as the savior to the working man, have themselves become the greedy assholes.

Read a history book!?!?!?!?!?!?!

read my post again oh great underachiever.

MY family is a coal mining family. I lived the history thru their stories of their days working the seams, some of them only 26 inches high.

Pick and shovel in those days, filling a mine car and putting your chit on the car to prove it was yours, and praying the roof didn't come in on you and that the man upstairs counted your chit honestly.

it was good, honest work and it helped shape the America that you live in today. That is one reason, among many, that I am a conservative. I was taught from a very young age that you have to work for what you want, the government isn't giving you anything they are not willing to take away.

So...... IS THIS PART OF YOUR GRAND PLAN?????????

Why do you ask, are you afraid of the plan? Has it made it impossible for you to flame BS? The wars are over so you have no purpose in being here without a war?

I'll be waiting for promo's answer to my request that he dazzle us with his wisdom. I'm sure that he has time to post his comments.

Your veiled insult - that conservatives don't, can't or won't read. It was obvious to those of us with an education who comprehend words and sentence structure.

Got that willfully ignorant thing all shined up, don't cha? LOL

You referred to the fact his story was from a book and NOT part of his families life. But you knew that. It is the game you play.

Your prerogative.
