Ok, well, conservatives are the ones against immigration, and most conservatives are religios... i have one question:
What would jesus do?

The closest to a Catholic view I've seen on the matter is that we should obey the country in all things unless doing so would cause us to sin. The reasoning (for some Catholics anyway) is apparently that as long as it's illegal to harbor aid for illegal immigrants, apparently we shouldn't. I say that denying any human being their basic rights such as food, clothing, and shelter is sinful, so... screw the government.

Exactly, that kind of aid isn't even illegal in the first place. I'm just saying, what would Jesus do? I can't be sure, but I know what He said:

he would never deny food


I am just stating, that the reason they come to the USA is becouse illegal immigrants lack food or shelter. otherwise they wouldn't risk their lives to come to the USA. if you think about it, IF we put them in prison for a while, then deport them, all we would be doing is turning a blind eye, and that would be like saying "ill aim the gun at your face, but i wont shoot" and then letting neture pull the trigger...

Actually I can think of a "catholic view" ... there is this great book called "the quotable atheist" in which an archbishop of Paris is quoted as saying that the Nazi cause is a noble and necessary one...it's great, I'll look it up again for specifics......

To paraphrase Sam Harris, that kind of thing doesn't happen because people demand evidence for other people's claims, it doesn't happen because people become TOO rational, it happens because of blind acceptance of irrational dogma. In short, this is a problem that occurs when people stop accepting rational explanations for things. It's a problem RELIGIOUS people are ESPECIALLY prone to.

The reason why YOU have an immigration problem is because you are easier to get into, you dont have to cross the pacific to get here.

I dunno why Japan doesnt have a problem, but the other countries are all Nordic countries and are not easy to get to if you are an illegal. :D
