If you go back in taime and kill your great great grandfather, what would happend then?

a) History changes, and you will never be borned.

b) You will fail killing him. How much you even try it wont work.

d) A new universe will be created. One were he never was murdered, and one when he was and you was never borned.

Or d), your great great grandmother has an affair with the mayor and doesn't tell anyone.

I know there are further dimensions after time, but I don't think we can exist in any of them since we are fourth dimensional. Our existence is like a line through time, if we branched out from that line, then the line would go that way, but we only exist on that single line.

Some scientists think that gravitation can twist the spacetime so you just have pass right trough it, to end up in an other time.

personally, i feel that time is full of endless possibilities...i could you ceasing to exist on one plane, yet continuing on another just as i can see a plane where germany won the war, the american indians wiping out all comers, etc...kind of an interesting question, really:)

Yeah. And what if the civil war never ended, and America would be like Korea?

Have you read the Hichhikers guide to the galaxy series? The last book is about what you're talking about.

actually, you win the booby prize!!!:D
yes and not only that one. several fiction books that i've readhave addressed this very same theory, and it seems quite logical and sound to me. at least, i haven't seen any proof to deny it nor substantiate it...

Nice. I also think it make sense. That means that every possibilite creates a new universe. And every opossibilte creates new possibilites, wich means it must be hundreds of billions of trillions of universe.
