Two nights ago a kid was shot to death a half a block down from my house i was one of the neighbors that called the police when the shots were fired at 2;30 in the morning. Here is a clip from my news paper
Officials: Teen died of head, neck wounds

From our news staff

An autopsy Wednesday showed that a Glenside teenager shot on a side street in east Reading died of gunshot wounds to the head and neck, officials in the Berks County coroner's office said.
Maurice Williams, 17, of 12081/2 Schuylkill Ave. was found early Tuesday in the 1100 block of Weimer Street, a narrow street near 12th and Franklin streets.

The coroner's office ruled the death a homicide.

Police said they stopped several teens trying to flee the area following the 2:50 a.m. slaying.

Neighbors reported hearing five gunshots.

Williams' family said he had not been home for a few days.

Police said all of the teens they have interviewed were wanted by juvenile probation authorities. More interviews are planned.

An investigation continues.

This morning i went out to get my mail and there on the corner is two guys selling drugs out of the back of their car I took a picture from the inside of my door way. I guess the cops around here feel like this is a hot spot now and that the drug dealers won't stick around ( yeah Right) anyway here is a pic of what i saw today. Just one more thing i guess i will post on my space.

Well we have drugs legalized over here, but not drug dealing.

I don't think at this point legalizing them will help.. This problem has gotten way out of hand over here. I am sick and tired of the lack of respect from kids now adays and just the everyday bullshit to be honest. I worry about my own kids too. This shooting happened no more then 200 feet from my house.

He had it coming. Not that he deserved it, but it kind of goes with the territory of dealing with the kind of people. There was a murder within walking distance last year, but he was involved with a gang or something. As tough as it is, it's comforting to know that this generally doesn't happen to law-abiding citizens like myself... well, maybe not law-abiding, but at least I keep to myself.

i know how it is...in my hometown when i was growing up, (and live still) about the worst problem was the keggers (or woodsies) out in the boonies....now, i have nieces and nephews addicted to smoking and injecting crack, and this town has shootings on a regular basis...a big part of the blame goes to the parents that refuse to raise and disclipine their children. sure, they can use the old excuse about being afraid of trouble with the law for spanking, but that's a tired excuse. my wife has had several classes on punishment due to running a daycare, and spanking is NOT against the law. more and more young parents are turning to tv and videogames as babysitters instead of taking active roles in their childrens lives. btw, in case your wondering, yes, i do have children, and am damned proud of em.
