What do you think?
I think yes, as we need to help support the lower skill workers, who are necessary to society.

But if we don't keep them down how the hell are we supposed to stay above them? :D

It's a dilemma. I'm already making above minimum wage, so it doesn't affect me all that much. But it's bad for the economy. It causes unemployment, and the workers that don't get fired don't get as many hours, so they're working less but not making any more, or sometimes not even as much.
Apparently, and I saw this on the news, every time minimum wage goes up, black people take the brunt of the firings that ensue. To be honest I don't think that can possibly be entirely or even significantly racist. I think it's just proof that by and large they don't work as hard or aren't as friendly, and the ones that are probably don't get let go.
Actually, maybe it's not such a bad idea to raise it every now and then, to clean things up a bit.

i believe that raising the minimum wage can drive small (2-3 people) business' go down...if the wage isn't enough to survive, then people should react by trying to learn new skills....i don't mind increasing at the same level as inflation, however
