Except none of the "facts" it claims to be true really are. It is extremely dramatized. It's ludicrous too, because in addition to all the made-up "Gospels" they reference, the ones that actually do exist actually portray Jesus as entirely God and not human, not the other way around like the DaVinci code tried to claim.

I agree with the General, the glaring historical innacuracies portrayed in this work make it hardly worth reading.

Yes, as a work of fiction it's not a bad book (although from what I hear it wasn't written well in the first place). But that would mean the Catholic Church was really not "discomfited".

Well it was adapted from a NOVEL....The book was written alright, WAY better than Angels & Demons, which a 5 year old could have written.
But you need to really learn about your bible. Just because a gospel doesn't appear in your Bible, which I can safely assume was printed in English in the 20th century, after scores of editing jobs, translations, retranslations and mistranslations, books being added, books being removed, doesn't mean said gospel never did appear there...doesn't even mean that the books that ARE in your version EVER WERE in the Bible in the past...I mean, if the JEWS had "the bible" before Christians, and THEIR Old Testament section has more books in it than yours...WHAT GOT TAKEN OUT AND WHY? You know initially the books weren't even kept together as "the Bible."...Many of the stories that were passed down were recorded by different authors, and, at a later date, someone known as the Redactor compiled the stories, most of them having more to do with local mythology than with Judaism, and began cutting out bits and pieces. Ask yourself "when was the title 'The Bible' canonized?" There are several DIFFERENT creation stories in the Tanakh (the Jews copy of your Old Testament) and Genesis is a hybrid of stories written mostly by 2 authors, "J" and "P" who didn't even believe in the same God, didn't write the books in their current order, and who lived thousands of years AFTER the events were believed to have taken place...but the shit got slapped together with a bunch of local mythology, some names were changed around, and you think God grabbed a pen, dipped it in demon blood and wrote the Bible in English, just the way it appears now. LOL, ROTFLMFAO

you know, i agree with you on the bible, and i do believe in god....but the bible was written by man with all of his failings....and even so, you know there has to be a ton of stuff lost in the many translations over the last couple of millenia...i thought it was a good read, and think it's hilarious how many people got upset over a work of fiction....almost as funny as "the war of the worlds" radio broadcast
The reason we are upset is because, people who read it or see it without much knowledge on the faith might believe what these things claim to be true.

Most werent true, but some were. Like the Friday the 13th bit, and the church deciding to take out the non synoptic gospels, etc.

You can't have KNOWLEDGE of FAITH. That's like having PROOF of a FICTIONAL ANIMAL like a unicorn
Yes I can. You may not believe it, but it doesn't mean I don't have the knowledge of what is true and what isn't.

Are you seriously entertaining the idea that AJK may open up a dictionary and try to enlighten himself in some form of factual knowledge? If you are I wouldn't know who the bigger fool is then....sorry thought that would be pretty funny :D
