When I lived in Alaska I had heard that weed was legal, and I knew tons of people who grew it, but I was skeptical.

So I looked up the laws for my area. I was shocked (in a very good, GOOD way) to find that you can have up to 24 plants growing in your home. Legally. 24 plants or less is protected under your right to privacy! The police can't come to your house for that. When I moved there a snowmobile shop burned down...when the fire dept. showed up the owner was there trying to put out the fire with water buckets from the river. WHY? Turns out he had a 40+ plant operation. He was fined and sered 3 weeks in jail.

By contrast, booze is a BIG no-no. I worked in several villages that were "dry." But if you bring in a fifth of cheap as booze, like a $15 bottle of R&R whiskey, you can sell it for $300! But you'll be serving prison time.

I see nothing wrong with it. I've smoked for 25 years. My great grandmother made ointment out of it to rub on sores. My mother who had cancer and later died smoked it to help with chemo and to give herself an appetite. Really the only reason it is illegal is because they make more money with it being illegal then legal.

I completely agree... i dont understand how they can ban marijuana and not alchoal when alchoal can have just as bad or even worse effects. I personally think alchoal is worse for you, by far. [not that its a completely bad thing in moderation...]

But when you drink alcohol you don't cause things to happen to other people. I said drink, not drive, not fight. When you smoke you can release that shit in the air where others will be affected by it also. I'm still kinda sore about the cig bans all over the place even though I quit LOL :D Playing Devils advocate in this one perhaps.

Screw that, if your going to a bar to poison yourself w/ booze then why not deal with a little smoke, that's kinda dee da dee ish. I quit smoking almost 11 months ago, but I still feel strongly that you should be allowed to smoke in the bars because of the reason above. Funny, I could have sworn in my post I clarified that "I said drink, not drive, not fight", drinking in itself is not harmful to "ANYONE" else, where as smoking is harmful to "ALL" those around. As for shit just happening, I could crash my truck tomorrow sober, I could get into fights sober, I could sound retarded, no stopping some things there bub.

there is no conclusive evidence proving alchoal can cause cancer, while there is proof that second hand smoke can. Also, there are bars that serve food. You do not have to drink, so assuming everyone in there is willing to poison themselves is ridiculous.

If smoking crack was legal, I'd have no problem with it in a bar. Where you there when bars were created? I'm just finding it hard to believe that you would know exactly what a bar was created for. Acually it's proved that marijuana not is especially dangerous, atlest not enough to kill, and it's very effective reducing headechs and smaller pains. I use it every day I wake up after drinking my ass of:D

you know what works quite well? First off, dont drink wine/beer. Anything with a dark colour gives you a worse hangover. So drint spirits of light colours. Before you pass out/ go to bed, drink a hell of a lot of water. The main reason for the headache is dehydration... this works quite well and you can do the same the next night without feeling like shit

When someone drinks some of them tend to become quite the asshole, not to mention they freakin stink. I'd prefer to be sitting right next to the dumb drunk ass so I can blow smoke in his face and mellow him out.

I think that's just an excuse for the government. In our annual parade the cops were driving a hummer and on the side it said "seized by drug dealers". They make more money with it being illegal. I have never taken other drugs. That's bullshit in most cases.

That's not true. That's a dangerous thing to tell people. Any time you burn anything, and ingest or consume the smoke it's bad for you. Smoke is carcinogenic; CAUSES CANCER~! That's why you gotta buy a vaporizer.

The gateway thing, that's really not the only reason, but yeah, it's definitely a big one you're right about that, and there's not a lot of conclusive proof about that. Most studies that show that marijuana is more or less ok for consumption get buried or covered up.. There is an AWESOME documentary called "grass" narrated by Woody Harrelson, it's a stirring account of polititcs, propaganda and the illegalization of a (mostly) harmless substance. There was one guy in there that got caught with a qurter oz and got a life sentence in the 50's
