Apparently the rope they used to hang him with was way too long for a man of his build. Usually they size it so that the inertia from the fall snaps the condemned's neck, but in this case he had too much inertia and, well, his body just decided to keep going.

Ya know what's SUPER funny....I just submitted a paper for an English Class today, and there was a paragraph in it that is really appropriate here...I'm laughing my ass off as I'm typing this right now...here's an excerpt, the paper being about online news sources...

"...I don’t blame Yahoo, though. The stories seem to be arranged [in order] by popularity. After all, when advertisers are footing the bill, you look for quantity of readers, not quality. Yup, his fat ass should have excesized so when he got the good ole hangin he didn't have to loose his head over it! HAHAHA...was that a pun?
