Man, I'm sick of this summer already and August just started... over 100 degrees for at least 2 weeks in a row in DFW... this SUCKS!

We normally get 1 month of 'Spring' (April) and 1 month of 'fall' (October). Of course one year we may be wearing tank tops in April when we hit 110, yet the next year we're wearing parkas as winter lingers on.

I will most likley loose my job if the Republican Candidate wins! He wants to cut all state employees and reduce my department by more than 1/2. He wants to refuse all Federal Funding. HOW MANY JOBS will be lost due to this? Repubs are wanting to RUIN this country!!!!!!!!


Most of My friends are federally funded employees of the Department of Ed. All of us are wondering what will happen to our livelihoods. All the Repub candidates want to REFUSE ANY FEDERAL funding and Cut the Department of Education in 1/2. I and many others will be without a job!

You're going to have to break down and read Arnie's Race to the Top. It's NOT only the K-12 grades. Then take a gander at the budget of your state. Then move on to the budget of your particular institution. Then dig on into those pensions that are unfunded on ALL levels. That'll drop your jaw in a heartbeat!!

Tax dollars are few and far between these days and it's NOT getting better thanks to a Democrat held Congress and White House. If your school doesn't cut the fat - they have to cut people. It's NOT you --- it's the economy, stupid! (Sorry, I had a Clinton moment. That wasn't to be taken personally. :D)

Had several bad accidents on the grassy sides of the roads and medians here in Florida, the car tires were melting/sticking to the pavement, hence the grass driving. Even the Highway Patrol cars balked at riding on the pavement, they threw down their lights, opened their doors and refused to move. The radar guns went on strike too. Man it was a mess!!!! Several patrolmen were arrested for streaking in their shorts and hats in sight of the public!!!

Well, August has turned the corner and it looks like it took the heat with it. Woke up at a comfortable 65 degrees or so this morning. It makes me wonder if we're in for another monstrous winter like last year's.
